What a year it has been!

Let's jump straight into our end-of-year recap. You’ll learn what happened with AppFollow in 2024 (good things!), what the focus is on now, and what to expect in 2025. Be sure to watch the whole recording, too!

AppFollow today

AppFollow is a B2B platform for app developers and product marketing managers, specializing in app reputation automation. This year we went hard on AI and automation (it’s booming everywhere for a reason), but we actually use it for reviews, ratings, and reputation management. More than 100,000 clients trust us, including big names like Activision, Disney, Lazada, Opera, and Wargaming.

Here's what you can do with AppFollow today (always a good thing to recap, eh?):

  • Streamline app review management
  • Gain actionable product insights from customer feedback
  • Save time with automated workflows
  • Boost app store optimization (ASO) effortlessly
  • Enhance user satisfaction and drive app growth

We process tons of reviews. 40% of replies are automated now. We're cranking that number up next year. We've sent over 10 million alerts. If your app tanks in ratings or something weird happens, you'll know instantly through Slack or any other system you use.

For small devs with 10 reviews monthly, sure, read them all. But when you're dealing with thousands or hundreds of thousands? Impossible. That's where our tagging, summarization, and charts come in.

Responding to reviews well

Manual responses work fine when you're starting out. But they're a pain when you scale. This year we improved our AI. We're not trying to replace your people—we're taking the grunt work off their plate. Let them handle the real problems while our automation deals with the easier stuff. Set up one rule and we'll handle reviews in any language, 24/7.

Not sure about AI? No problem. You can use approval mode. Most companies start with it to check it works well, then switch to full auto once they’re happy. You've got brand guidelines? Rules about how to reply? We can handle that too now. Tell the AI what to do—use usernames, throw in emojis, and add your team's signature on every reply? Done. But watch what you write in the instructions—the AI will do exactly what you tell it to, even if you tell it to be a meanie.

Some big companies still prefer using pre-approved templates. That's fine, we work with those too. But, using the same template over and over sounds robotic. And maintaining templates in 150+ languages? That's insane.

So here's what we do: write one template in English. We'll rephrase it every time and translate it to whatever language the review is in. The AI sticks to your approved wording, just makes it sound natural and puts it in the right language.

You can try this right now in the automation hub. Let the automation handle the simple stuff while you deal with actual problems and roadmap feedback.

Precise insights and reporting

When you're dealing with hundreds of thousands of reviews, most of them are fluff like "I like this game" or "I hate this feature." You're wasting time looking for actual insights about what to build next or what your competitors are doing.

So we built AI-generated summaries. Click one button, wait a few seconds, and you get a breakdown of thousands of reviews across all languages. You get a list of the most mentioned stuff, good and bad. Want to spy on your competitors? Don't waste hours reading their reviews. Click twice and you've got their most discussed topics right there. This summary's just the high-level view.

Need to dig deeper? Hit the "get more details" button. Let's say people are talking about your interface being user-friendly. You want to know exactly what they love and hate about it? We'll show you. Want to read the actual reviews mentioning this stuff? You can do that too.

So you can start at the top level, then drill down as far as you want. Need quotes for your all-hands meeting? They're right there. You can find reviews by topic, by tag, and everything else. No more wasting hours reading hundreds of useless reviews to find the good stuff.

And! More data means better insights. Now you can get country-specific data for Google Play reviews. No more mixing up reviews just because they're in the same language. Filter by region, customize your responses for different markets, and figure out what each country actually thinks about your product.

Once that's set up, you can track how users vote on reviews. Shows you what issues matter most and what feedback's getting attention.

Reputation beyond app stores

Managing reviews across platforms is difficult as it is. It should be simpler and encompass everything. That’s what we achieved!

You can now reply to Microsoft and Xbox reviews. Same with Samsung. And it's not just replies—you get all the good stuff: automation, insights, semantic analysis, the works.

We finally added our first non-mobile source: Trustpilot. Now you can watch your reputation beyond app stores. Keep all your feedback in one spot. Want to stalk your competitors' ratings? Do it all in one place.

We're not stopping there. Next year we're adding Facebook, Google My Business, G2, and more. We're turning AppFollow into a one-stop shop for managing reviews, brand reputation, and product feedback.

Improved UX

We've also cleaned up our interface. Now, everything is grouped into categories that make sense:

  • Daily work stuff
  • Customer support automation with tagging and templates
  • Monitoring dashboards showing your key stats—ratings by country, review counts, how your agents are performing
  • Insights section where our AI does the heavy lifting, analyzing millions of reviews daily

We completely overhauled our integrations section, too. It handles all your connections—both incoming and outgoing.

Want to pull in data from App Store, Google Play, or Trustpilot? Want to push alerts to Slack, Zendesk, or email? It's all in one spot now, dead simple to set up.

Oh, and the AI summary report we mentioned earlier? You can get it dropped in your Slack channel weekly or monthly. No reading reviews, no work—just a Monday morning summary of everything that matters.

Operational efficiency and security

We handle massive amounts of data—over 100 million collection tasks daily. Reviews, ratings, keywords, metadata—we have to grab it all without messing anything up. Then we transform it for insights like semantics and sentiment analysis.

This year we moved our data collection pipelines to modern tech on Amazon's infrastructure. Built a new monitoring system too. When something breaks on our sources' end, we need to know fast and fix it.

We also overhauled our reply and alert system. These show us how much people actually use our platform. Had to be rock solid. Moved everything from old tech to new stuff, added monitoring. If something breaks or we mess up a release, we'll catch it immediately.

And, more automation. Completely rebuilt it this year to handle AI replies and custom instructions. Moved it all to our modern infrastructure for better security. And we're not done—we're adding more automation features you've been asking for.

We got ISO 27001 certified in May. We run penetration tests yearly, have a bug bounty program to catch issues fast. Got solid processes for handling employee access and credentials.

We monitor everything properly now and handle incidents transparently.

Pricing and packaging changes

With all these new features, we wanted to get them to as many customers as possible. So we simplified our pricing.

Every plan now gets access to growth strategy, ASO tools, customer feedback analysis, and customer engagement. Before, we split these across different plans, which was difficult. No more nickel-and-diming you with add-on features. As we build new stuff, you get it without paying extra. We're trying to maximize the value, not your bill.

Every plan gets AI access now—including AI summaries and replies. Everyone gets some version of it. For Enterprise customers—-you get even more: custom reporting, integrations, API access, whatever you need. Our professional services team will make it happen.

Afterword

To wrap this up—we showed you our big updates from this year. We simplified pricing to make it easier to get value. AI and automation were our focus, but next year we're hitting ASO, organic visibility, and more reporting and insights. We want to help you make faster decisions, whether it's marketing, product, or customer experience.

One more thing—we're running some closed betas for Trustpilot and reporting features. Want in? Tell us. We will make it happen.

Happy holidays, and see you in 2025!
