EQX+

I’ve done a few of the HIIT/equinox workouts but I find myself using the SoulCycle classes the most. For the most part, I’ve really enjoyed the app, but I find that the SoulCycle classes miss the mark in 2 respects. The first being the form rider (the person who rides alone to show the choreography) has been off beat in nearly all of the advanced classes I have taken (I can’t speak to the other levels because I have not done those classes). I would rather look at the instructor than have to see someone ride who isn’t keeping the rhythm. Perhaps, the form rider should just be the instructor of that class. The second shortcoming that I have noticed is the amount of overlap when it comes to music selection. Some variety would definitely be nice because sometimes it feels as though I am doing the same class with different instructors. Overall, the classes are great and it really feels like I’m in the studio. I’d definitely recommend Ross and James Lewis— both great instructors!

Update: I love Variis workouts. You get what you pay for — and more. I’ve already tried the thorough, quality EQ, yoga, and Headstrong app and online classes. They are the top workouts I’ve found online. The production quality, diverse representation, and instructor quality is excellent and as expected from the Equinox brand. Glad to have it at home during the pandemic/when I can’t make it to the gym! The tech support is very responsive too and made it work for Airplay so I can see the instruction better on the big screen. (Previously didn’t work.) Thank you Variis team and instructors!

The content is great. I’ve had some really great workouts so far. Two things popped into my mind immediately, though: First, I didn’t seem to have the ability to scrub ahead besides the 10 second jump ahead feature, which was kind of inconvenient. I mostly tried that because, second, it would be great if the exercises’ descriptions list EXACTLY what is necessary in a workout so we don’t start one and then find out halfway into it that we don’t have the equipment we need. Or if they list the general exercises in a workout so if someone has a particular injury, we can avoid the workout if it’s heavy on that body part. Some other apps have that feature it’s a very helpful feature. Thanks!

So much better than peloton app or anything else I’ve tried. The filming is so professionally done it really makes a difference. I also like that there is no wasted time. Other platform instructors spend so much time blabbing but this gets right to the point which is great. Love the HIIT classes, feels exactly like I would get in the studio. I just wish the yoga had more advanced level classes. Everything on the app now is pretty beginner level. But overall I’m so happy with this app I look forward to working out with it

All of the instructors in this app are great! The videos all seem very high quality too. I’ve used a number of different workout apps but this one so far is my favorite in terms of quality of both the app and the workouts. I also don’t experience technical issues like I did. The Nike and Peloton apps both used to crash halfway through when I was streaming to my Apple TV, and actually Variis did too at first but Variis was the only one who updated and fixed the problem.
