This hunk of junk has been a huge disappointment from the get go and the company’s customer service is equally worthless If the device wasn’t cycling itself through its various settings (while set to silent dark mode, NOT on auto) and either waking me up out of a sound sleep, or it was not connecting to the unsophisticated app to allow me to adjust the settings - hell, it cannot even maintain a consistent connection to my WiFi / Bluetooth! Constantly required to unplug the device and reinstall the app to initiate setup to reconnect to my WiFi/Bluetooth and even then, it is unable to locate the device, despite being the fact I’m standing right beside it!! After a year of ownership I can confidently say the device has made no positive impact on the quality of air within my bedroom and the consistently disappointing app has now been updated to an utterly useless configuration that cannot even connect to its own device let alone govern status of filters or adjust settings! The entire device is nothing more than a glorified plant stand. My advice, find something better to invest your $1000 into.

I don’t know what I expect. For the last two years I haven’t been able to connect to my device. Before I get an auto or standard reply understand I have gone through customer service three times and each time they say someone will contact me. No one does and then I am told it’s my fault for not confirming even though I have each and every time. Then my favorite is when they tell me to go through the most obvious steps that any logical person with a neuron of technology knowledge does even before calling customer service. Now with the new updated app, not only can I not connect, but I can’t delete my device to even try to add it again. I have tried connectivity and resetting on the device itself to no avail. In addition I have looked at real world testing recently and see better results from other devices. So much for a premium product. I am so done! I think I will just throw my device out. A $700 device that is built to connect with technology should do what it’s built for. Every time customer service says “the device works with or without it connecting to the app” I want to throw my phone against the wall. I wouldn’t have bought a “smart” filtration device if I just wanted to spend less and get just a air cleaner. Thank you for nothing Molekule!

Don’t let these negative reviews deter you from purchasing a Molekule (when you spot it on sale 😉). The main draw to purchasing this air purifier is the innovative technology behind the air filtration, not this accompanying app. The app recently had an update and I find that it works much better. I’ve had no problems with the app connecting to my WiFi or Molekule device. During the initial set-up, it will take extra time to initialize, but I believe that’s written in the manual. With the recent app update, I like the added feature of being able set when you’d like for dark mode to turn on. One suggestion: it'd be great if you could vary the setting for weekday nights versus weekend nights.

I have been trying to connect to the unit so the firmware can be updated and have use of the smart features that I paid for. Sounds like what most people would do, you buy something, you use all the features it has. Well this is about a three week effort to give the senior technicians a chance to resolve the issues and be able to use the smart features of the device. First off, don’t waste your money on this device and certainly don’t try customer support as they will try to keep you happily waiting until it’s resolved. This is a $2400 investment into three units and only one connects. Please do yourself a favor and don’t buy this machine as it is not what is advertised. Now on to filing a complaint with the BBB so nobody else I know gets taken advantage of. Then on to social media to be sure they all see it there as well. Oh, Merry Christmas...

The new version of the app seems to work better than the previous one. Especially in terms of connectivity. It appears to have fewer features, though. Like the room size switcher has disappeared. But hopefully that simply means the focus is on getting the essentials refined and working 100% (like the connection) and then adding those features back in. I liked the previous home screen “look” better...it seemed more consistent with the device screen and it was jarring to be so different and not have the same options/features , but I will settle for WORKING (AKA, actually connecting to the device when the app opens). Look forward to seeing updates.
