This app, while I’m thankful it lets me watch things I am unable to get access any other way, for such a reasonable price- it is designed poorly. You need to fix the home page to show your favourites, you need to be able to put each show in its own playlist so the viewer can binge watch a show if they want to, the bugs need to be fixed so I can watch more than one episode without having to shut the app and reopen it, if I don’t want to put a pin on my account then there needs to be an option to *not do it* rather than “do it later”. If you need a software developer/engineer to fix these issues then please get in touch with me. You could be doing so much better because it’s already an amazing thing to be with Hayu but the way this app is designed makes it so difficult to be able to enjoy it at its biggest potential.

I'll be the first to admit that I've encountered most if not all the issues that other reviewers have mentioned. It's slow and laggy at times, the interface can be hard to make sense of, and finding your favourite shows takes time. However, as someone who cannot justify the price of pay TV, Hayu is a godsend. All of my favourite shows come up as they are aired weekly, when you're patient this app really does perform well, and the price make me feel like I'm robbing the developers blind. Don't get me wrong, I know that there are issues that need to be fixed. However it's a small price to pay for hundreds of shows I enjoy watching at my fingertips. I would encourage everyone to give it another go, and look past the small faults if you're looking for a more affordable alternative. If I could make one small request, please make it available for me to stream on my Telstra Roku box! Or Hisense smart tvs. Thanks 🙂

Update: I continued to keep the app after many glitches in the first period, seems the developers have updated the software? I haven’t had any issues since I first signed up... except for when trying to log into the website on a laptop it won’t actually sign me in and tries to make me re-sign up and pay again... Previous: I love the concept of this but it won’t even work! I’ve signed up about 15minutes ago and I still can’t get anything to play! It just glitches and goes back to the home screen! I’m extremely frustrated! I’m glad there’s free trial period because I’m not paying for something that is this hard to navigate/ actually get to work! Still in the process of trying to do such! 😡 if you fixed these issues this app would be perfect! Unfortunately you’re lacking on the IT side of things.

So... everyone that I recommend this app to has problems with it but mine worked fine! But now suddenly mine has problems and even though I’m paying for my subscription it won’t let me log in? Beyond annoying that it’s asking me for my account details even though I pay for it through iTunes? I have updated my account and it still won’t let me log in.. when I went on the hayu website and read their faqs there was nothing about account log ins so I tried to call them and the number that they have provided doesn’t even work! This is so frustrating!! I am a loyal paying customer and the company is happy to charge you regardless of if they let you into the dodgy app!!! Beyond annoying! This has happened to numerous friends of mine! Once you’re logged in.. there is absolutely no problems that I have faced, unfortunately this problem is quite big and should be top of their priority to fix as people are getting ripped off!

The app layout confused me from the start, finding the favourites tab requires a bit of navigation. Also, if I've finished an episode in a series I'm watching, it doesn't appear in my "currently watching" section, so I have to either go into my favourites and search through the seasons and episodes to find out where I was up to or search for the tv show. It also never seems to be able to play from where I left off if I pause a show and come back to it later. I have to press play and then scroll through the episode to find where I had paused it at. Other than these frustrations I haven't found any crashing issues and the app on my Optus Fetch works well. I was worried I may have account pairing issues but so far so good! Once the continue watching glitches are resolved this would be a much better app.
