The RCH Emergency Nurse Practitioner App is an informative resource for clinicians who have an interest in paediatrics. The app provides in-depth guides on paediatric assessment, common diagnostic findings, and important red flags to observe for in practice. Throughout the app there are useful tips and tricks to help you with your assessment and interpretation of investigations as well as useful guides about performing procedures on children. It can be used as a learning resource or a quick access guide in practice. This resource has been developed by a group of specialist Nurse Practitioners and Senior Clinicians at RCH to provide the user with a culmination of expert information about emergency paediatric patients. It is suitable for any healthcare professional wanting to further their knowledge in paediatrics, including nurse practitioners, medical clinicians and nursing staff Key Features Systems Guide This is the main focus of the app providing an, easy to navigate, assessment guide for the user. It is laid out in an alphabetical format of physiological systems for ease of use. There are many informative charts, tables and images to aid in the user’s learning or practice. Clinical Resources A culmination of great links to Clinical Practice Guidelines, websites and resources which have been gathered and placed in one easy to find location. There are also quick access resuscitation resources which include ANZCOR ALS algorithms and paediatric resus drug dosing. Paediatric Assessment This section provides a great resource on developmental milestones, specific physiological differences in an ABCD format and age specific vital signs values. Also included is a step-by-step process for interpretation of paediatric x-rays and demonstrative images of positions for examining the mobile child.
