Navigation for Google Maps Go

Love it helps get me to my destination using the most efficient route according to distance and real time traffic. (Almost always)There is one thing that I don't like. When you take a wrong turn it would be nice to know that it is rerouting. Sometimes instead of just telling you to make a uturn it will reroute and take you a really ridiculous long crazy way.

This is a big improvement over previous versions. I now can hear full and timely driving instructions prior to passing a designated turn, and most importantly, with enough time to safely react to the instructions without taking my eyes off the road. The older versions only gave you a partial instruction that required that you take your eyes off the road to read the name of the road you needed to make a turn on.

Does a rather good job. Used it on my car head unit. It loads faster than the standard GMaps. It functions the same way as GMaps too but with a certain letdown: no road names announced. I'm also unable to use Google assistant to input a destination by voice. It's also quite odd how Go visibly activates the Chrome browser to input the route then forwards the URL to this app. Seems messy. Nevertheless, this works essentially the same as the default Google navigation app once loaded.

The App will auto start the map feature when I'm driving which is ok, but after I close the app & continue driving, The app will restarts the map feature. Why? When I physically close the app, I don't want it to restart on its own. The App even auto starts the map feature while I am sitting stationary in a chair when I'm holding the phone in my hand. This is quite annoying. I am deleting this App from my phone after only using it for a few weeks.

Absolutely rubbish app. Used to use Google maps (which was already a memory hog) before the latest update. When clicking "Start Navigation" it freezes the entire phone rendering it a brick before crashing utterly. I resorted to downloading the Google Maps Go "app" which is just a chrome shortcut and in addition, this equally useless app in order for navigation... but guess what??? When clicking "Navigate in App" is shows a loading circle but does nothing. Waste of time and data.
