XTOMP

Pretty cool app/pedal. Love that I can experiment with different sounds without buying new pedals. Suggested improvements, in order of importance (to me): 1. Increase the size of the knob labels. I'm on an iPhone SE and can barely read them. Maybe increase the contrast of the font as well. 2. Whenever you show a specific xtomp in the app (at the load to device screen or on the My Xtomp screen), you show a graphic of the pedal's current loaded effect and the device's name in small font. I think it would be less confusing to show some generic (or user-chosen) graphic instead of the current-loaded effect graphic. Maybe just write out the current loaded effect name so I know what's on there, but showing the actual effect pedal image throws me off for some reason.

As far as I can tell, Hotone has given up on the Xtomp. Two months without the monthly updates, faq page is 404. It is a lie to advertise the Xtomp as having a “growing effects library” since Hotone no longer adds effects. Instead they bring us Hotone Friday once a month to spam us about new products. The effects in the Xtomp are lower quality than freeware apps- reverbs are the worst, they are unusable, as are the filter and wah effects and many of the amp sims. There is an ever present, strange modulation in the tails of the high gain amp simulations that sounds artificial. A few of the clean amp sims sound pretty good, some of the modulation effects and delays are decent, some of the overdrive pedals are fun if you aren’t concerned about realism. But all sounds suffer from introduced hum and digital noises, keeping the pedal off the pedalboard. The fun part of owning the Xtomp was receiving free effects once a month, even if they were mostly sub par (although Hotone never thought to include a tuner). But apparently those days are done. My sincere advice- forget this app, don’t buy one of these novelty pedals, and avoid Hotone altogether.

The XTOMP actually works; and it’s like having 200 different pedals. So I bought the Irig, I bought positive grid, bias, all of them...always disappointing. Amazing.

Just might be. Great sounding effects, easy to load. Does what was claimed. Keep the new effects coming.

The looping was genius to add, and the new lead overdrive has the long sustain that I just amazing, keep it up it's absolutely awesome.
