Words & Ladders

I love the idea of having chutes and ladders set up with a guessing game to accompany it. However, many times I’ve found that there are multiple possible answers to the clues which fit the number of letters required. This makes the game quite frustrating as it has only one possible answer programmed but if you input one and not the other it counts it as wrong even though you are technically correct. (E.g. the hint is Persian Gulf Emirate, five letters: this could be either Qatar or Dubai, but only one is programmed to be correct. In order to know which they are referring to, you would have to spend coins to find out the first letter, which is not always possible.) Thus, the idea is cool, but the bugs often make for an unpleasant experience. I may end up deleting this app if there continues to be an excessive number of them.

I am enjoying the game quite a lot, but there are some things I would like to see improved. The character piece on the board doesn’t appear to be customizable. It would be nice if you could swap out the character and color, and maybe different outfits or skins for them as well. These could be items earned in the game from achievements. Also, I am having trouble getting a game started with my friends. I clicked to invite them to play and it sent them a link to get the game, but it does not actually set up a game with me once they have the game. I don’t see any button to start a game with friends and have only played with random people so far. Please consider adding a friend list and an easy way to start games with friends.

My only suggestion/complaint is the difficulty level, having played about 10 games I’ve been able to clear in on go, some with ladders, some without. A bit more difficult and more well written “riddles” would make it great. Aside from that I definitely recommend it for those who enjoy ‘Wordbrain’ and other word puzzle games.

I absolutely love this game! It’s really fun to play. But I’m having an issue with the invite links for new games I receive from friends. When I click on the link I’m taken to the homescreen and there’s no game there from my friend so the link is useless. I also can’t figure out who to contact either to solve this issue otherwise I would rate this game 5 stars.

Solid idea, but calling them riddles is extremely misleading. The questions are more like elementary trivia. Examples are “leather strap worn around the waist” and “the day before Saturday.” I was able to clear the board in 1 turn without using a single ladder during my first two games. If you use actual riddles and make them at least a little difficult, it could be a decent game.
