WEATHERmeter and WINDmeter are both fully compatible with the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus (using the included adapter cable for WINDmeter). The Wind & Weather Meter app works with the WeatherFlow WINDmeter and the WeatherFlow WEATHERmeter -- available for purchase at retailers online and offline. When paired with a WeatherFlow meter, this free app allows you to take & share weather reports from your exact location. Capture highly accurate weather data, including wind speed (average, gust and lull), wind direction, air temperature, humidity and pressure. The app also give you values such as wind chill, heat index, apparent wind, crosswind, tailwind, dew point, air density and more. Add a description and instantly share your report via Twitter, Facebook, SMS, email and more. Weather reports captured from this app can be posted instantly to popular online weather services including iKitesurf, iWindsurf, SailFlow, WindAlert, and FishWeather. Device Compatibility: WINDmeter connects via the audio jack WEATHERmeter connects wirelessly
Handy for drone flying, it’d be indispensable with Apple Watch support and programmable warnings for user selectable wind speeds and/or direction changes. Also wish there was a wind vane mount to self orient.
I like the real-time updates from the meter. That part works very well. However, I do not like that the app doesn’t support large screens. It looks terrible on my iPhone 11 Pro Max. The buttons are huge and the app only uses about 3/4 of the screen. It would also be nice if there were more integration with the other Weather Flow apps. Like maybe let me tap something to go to or see my Tempest at home, or to a forecast for my location.
Just bought a new WeatherFlow weather meter to take wind readings. The app connects instantly to the weather meter just by pushing the little button on the meter. The app was pretty simple to understand — measures wind direction, average and gust plus temp, humidity, pressure and a bunch ‘more data’. I was able to post my readings to the WindAlert website directly from this app without issue. Looking forward to testing it out in more places.
I don’t know if it’s the software or the hardware, but it rarely works, regardless of the usual troubleshooting steps. I wouldn’t waste my time if I could do it over again. I’d just buy a standalone anemometer.
I mean seriously, a 1-star review because you didn't know you needed an instrument to measure the wind??? I guess your phone has a built in anemometer, idiots. Some people don't deserve to have smart phones and several of them are on this apps reviews. Reading reviews for apps shows there is no hope for man kind, here's to hoping the wind blows you all away. Great product WeatherFlow!
