VictronConnect

The app interfaces with Victron’s Bluetooth dongle which interfaces with many of Victron’s devices. For my use, it interfaces with their MPPT 75/15 solar charge controller and later on I plan on adding their battery monitoring system. I went with the Victron system is that there is a strong possibility that I will be upgrading my battery system to a lithium ion battery and will need to change the charging parameters. This app makes changing the charge controller’s parameters very easy. The app also gives you access to 30 days of monitoring history which you can download as a CSV file. One bug in the Mac OS app versus the iOS app is that the font used in the settings boxes is too large so you can’t see the entire number so part of the value is cut off. For example, under Settings > Max charge current, 15 A shows up as 5 A. The programmer needs to increase the horizontal dimensions of the settings boxes.

Wroks great, and regularly updated with new features. I use it with my Solar MPPT controller and it is a great help in undersanding what’s going on and optimizing power generation and consumption.

This is what sets Victron apart - so much data presented in such an easy to understand fashion!

Generally speaking the App not working on Catalina OS. Sometimes (if you wait a lot) you can see device for a moment.

I've really enjoyed using this app when it's able to find my SmartSolar device. After a reboot, the app can almost always find the device. If I close / reopen the app, though, it will only find the device about 10% of the time. Have done some digging with mac's Console, but haven't found an obvious smoking gun. Mac 10.14.6 (latest), VictronConnect (latest, v5.8), SmartSolar MPPT 75/15 (latest firmware, v1.39).
