The Journey Down: Chapter Two

Amazing, amazing, amazing, did I say amazing? Such high quality graphics, you really feel your actually there, to top it off the most perfect music along the way. RIP Simon you legend. There are very few games of this quality, that transport you to another world so completely. Well done all involved.

One of the best point and clicks i've played along with the first part. Amazing fun!

A project that it's clear a lot of time, money, and love has gone into. Gives real value for money in a decently sized point and click adventure, interesting art and unique soundtrack. It also avoids a lot of the cancers plaguing other iOS titles, no micro-payments, no pop-ups mid-game asking for rating (until you complete it), and no roped off content/offering hints in exchange for money or reviews. Skygoblin seem like a studio determined to make good games without compromise and I expect great things to follow.

Filmatic point and click that is much longer than the first chapter (thank goodness). Worth the money, an interesting story, some good puzzles and beautiful graphics. The puzzles are not that challenging though, but sometimes inventive, for good or bad, and it felt a bit simplistic at times from a player perspective. The inability to mute the music (which don't get me wrong, is good) was irritating as many gamers like to play their own music. I was surprised you couldn't do anything at all in settings except turn subtitles on/off. Music in a loop, however atmospheric, is pretty wearing. A solid four stars.

All the style and atmosphere you expect from a great adventure game. It's like one of the high budget games from the 90s, with similar production values and care and attention, from a time long before the concept of painting-by-numbers hidden-object 'adventures' were ever dreamed up. In essence, it's a graphical adventure the way they were meant to be. There are times it's a bit slow getting between scenes, a bit ponderous, but that is a minor quibble. Take your time and go with the flow.
