Snakebird

This is such a brilliant and challenging game and would recommend anyone to give it a go if they like puzzles. I can definitely see this being too difficult for some people, and I think a few more introduction levels would be useful. Getting used to how gravity works within the game and knowing that the fruit is load-bearing could both be introduced rather than being thrown into an already seemingly impossible level. I have also paid for the full game, and while I haven't finished it yet, I can't see a great amount of re-playability. Could I suggest other collectibles hidden within the levels which don't increase the birds length, or other objectives (complete within a time or move limit) to encourage players to go back over levels? Hope to see more added to this game in the future!

This game is all cutesy and fun at the start, and I thought it would be like games with a similar concept; easy. The tutorial was just that, and so I started level one; finished in more or less two minutes. I tried level two and spent five minutes of being extremely cross and confused. Then I started to try different, less obvious routes. This game makes you think outside the box. It has been tested, and in my opinion, rather thoroughly, as there seems to be only one way to complete it. It is possible and I did start to doubt that on level six, but I did it, because used two things other puzzle games don't require; logic and my brain. This game makes you feel stupid at first, sure, but then it makes you feel like you've accomplished something massive. It gives you a sense of achievement, because it requires thought. This is what all puzzle games should be like

The controls just do not work sometimes when you load up the game. I mean I struggled to even select the first level. Every time to touch the screen the camera flicks to the far side of the screen, and flip flops back and forth every time you touch the screen. This is incredibly infuriating when you also account for the fact that this happens whenever you swipe too. Never mind being able to see what you are doing without having an aneurysm, swiping never seems to do the same thing whenever you try to restart the level, sometimes it just will not move from where it starts and other times one swipe, which you do exactly the same as every other time, will make it move 3 tiles at once straight into the water. Incredibly infuriating and enraging to try to do anything from selecting the level to swiping once. I like the idea of the game and it does seem challenging, I just cannot play it in its current state.

If you can't get past level 2 or even level 1 then you should go back to those puzzle games which don't require any thought to complete. Don't give negative reviews to a game just because of your own stupidity. Also the people moaning about it not being free? They're not going to spend many hours of their time making a game as polished as this and give it away for free. Think of it as a demo, surely you would prefer to try something before you buy it? Anyway solid game, which is admittedly quite hard but actually requires some thought which all puzzle games should.

The logic in Snakebird is brilliant. These brain teasers leave you questioning how the subtle gravity in the game works mixed with dangers and obstacles (the latter sometimes becoming tools!) A well thought out production, although the demo and paid version should be two apps (I couldn't gift the full app to a friend because of its current setup). Not worthy of all it's one star ratings for being "too hard" - that's the nature of puzzles, the game itself in terms of artwork and audio is flawless and fun, in my opinion.
