SkinVision - Find Skin Cancer

I came across this app when researching the mole in question and couldn’t believe I hadn’t heard of it before. Within seconds of submitting a picture Skin Vision advised that the mole was High Risk; within 24 hours thereafter I had a further update from the team advising that I should see a professional. I took that advice and within a short space of time I’ve seen a dermatologist and had an excision biopsy. I was very lucky to have the quick turnaround by the dermatologist, and I am now awaiting results which can take several weeks unfortunately. I am at least glad I have taken a step in the right direction and that Skin Vision validated my thoughts that the mole was perhaps suspect, since I was starting to doubt myself! Thank you Skin Vision for taking the time to help others.

I highly recommend the Skinvision app. I used this app to assess a mole I had been a bit worried about. I had asked my gp practice nurse about it a while back and had been told it was too small to be of concern. It was larger by the time I used the Skinvision app which rated it as high risk. I saw my doctor the next day and was referred to the local dermatology department which removed it. The mole turned out to be a malignant melanoma - very early stage, so my chances of survival are good. I would also mention that Skinvision sent me 3 emails in the days following the app assessment urging me to see my doctor without delay. This app may literally have saved my life.

•. This is an iPhone app so therefore photographs from ANY iPhone SHOULD be sufficient, but this is not the case. SkinVision claim photos from phones iPhones 5, 5S, 6 and 7 will be adequate and do not bother to tell us until after we’ve taken them that they will be too blurred. • As my photos were too blurred, I was advised to send to photos by Email instead. Another rep said that was not acceptable afterall, so I asked for a the refund but she refused to give it, until I pointed out it’s illegal to keep my money as they’d sold it under these false pretences - THEN the refund was given. • From the first time I looked into this app last year in September - until now - skinvision has claimed to have had 2700 successes from this app, but at a rate of ZERO added in those last 5 months, it makes that very hard to believe. There is absolutely no proof of that 2700 figure anyway. • This company claims to have qualified personnel running out, yet or unable to tell a melanoma from a normal photograph, these are not professionals in the slightest. All they do is look on app machinery and probably see what colour it is for a yes or no. • I’ve looked through many feedback reviews, and results are inaccurate for more often than not. Many told they have nothing to worry about, but do you have cancer etc, and vice versa. TOTALLY not recommended.

I googled apps and came across skin vision, I was looking for an app to send a pic to rather than bother my Doctor for something that may be nothing to worry about. I have a liaison on my leg which had been there for about 3 months, it wasn’t bothering me but I knew I needed to get an opinion. I sent my pic off and got a reply in a day or so telling me I needed to get it checked but that it wasn’t an urgent matter. I have since had my doctor check it and he is going to remove it and do a biopsy, in his opinion it is probably Bowen’s disease and can be treated with cream once diagnosed. I so glad I tried Skin Vision, I will recommend.

I used this app being away from home for just a couple of days. I had spotted a suspicious looking mole on a Wednesday, that definitely wasn’t there on Monday. The app allowed me to get a quick assessment on its level of risk. Having had a high risk response, I took immediate action and had it removed the day after (a dermatologist and a surgery were involved). I’m now waiting for the histology but feel good about having reacted quickly. And this is thanks to this app. I think it is a great device and has an amazing potential. I can only wish its use will be officially promoted.
