A great app so far but unable to progress through tracking daily emotions on classic diary card as “continue” is grayed out at the bottom. *EDIT: The error was mine. I was not choosing an answer for each emotion. Eg., if I did not experience the emotion of, say, envy for the day I was leaving that blank, rather than choosing 0 as my answer. All emotions must have a rating before being able to progress.
This app unfortunately only has the back side of the “official” DBT diary card, where you note which skills you used that day. It might be good to continue using after you’ve completed a term of DBT, to stay refreshed on your skills. However, most people currently working on DBT would need the front side of the card, where you make notes about the day, track intensity of emotions such as Anger and Anxiety, and keep track of your weekly Target Behavior. Not sure why the app only has the back side. Also, I found the bubble animation on each question to be a tad slow, especially if you were trying to enter a couple days at a time.
I’ve always had trouble filling out diary cards and sometimes, just couldn’t remember what each skill was exactly...with this app, I find the diary card a huge help, especially the very pertinent and gender equal examples. I actually want to practice these DBT skills because I can now fully sense how much they can improve my life. Thank you technology AND the creators of this app!
I’m new to DBT and have found this app to be amazingly helpful. Learning them is life changing in living with bipolar disorder and after being in therapy for almost 30 years I now have additional support. Thanks so much!
First, please create a way to mute that really annoying background music. An app intended for a lot of highly sensitive people should allow users to decrease sensory stimulation as needed. Next, it’s also really annoying to be forced through all those skills for someone new to DBT. Let users focus on the ones learned vs everything. Finally, there’s nothing about tracking emotions, urges, self harm, SI... pretty crucial components of a diary card.
