User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
First and foremost, the feedback mechanism is not actually enabled; you can’t send the email once you have clicked on that link within the app. Second, they offer chants on the free version but then lock them away into the paid version with no warning (e.g., Hanuman Chalisa). This app is in the service of the holiest and purest Knowledge and Practice, which shouldn’t be commercialized anyway. The rationale is that charging for the app, which is not cheaply priced, supports AoL service projects throughout the world; but alms should be given with a pure motivation to serve others through Knowledge. It is one thing to restrict some content to paying users; but to restrict increasing amounts of content to paying users is to twist people’s arms into giving money “to a good cause” when really people will be paying to hold onto aspects of the app that supported them, as they are trying to get themselves into a good space spiritually — from which they will then be able to give funds in the spirit of loving generosity, not compulsory craving. Otherwise, the app is a blessing; I just hope the creators don’t keep taking away content and making it impossible to give them this feedback directly.
I’ve used many guided meditation apps like Headspace. For me the mantra techniques help strengthen my breath and get me to a meditative state rather than waiting for vague directions as my mind drifts. One thing I’d like to see is the mantras spelled out phonetically. It can be hard sometimes to really hear the proper pronunciations. Another thing I’d like to see is a better curation of programming. I like the daily suggestions but I find myself digging around for the perfect meditation too much. Other than that this one’s much more effective for me and worth the annual for sure if you meditate several times a week.
Playlist feature is super cool and something I had been wanting so badly to have a long continuous uninterrupted sadhana. Upgrade features are totally worth it!! So many new chants and guided meditation to choose from and I feel like a kid in a fait wanting to try everything 😄.. Just love the new UI and it's ease of use, all the colors used so pleasing!! Another gem is the ability to choose the template for saving or sharing knowledge points.. just brilliant!!! The list keeps on going ...
I love this app! It is the most complete source of meditation instruction I’ve found and at a reasonable price. I love that it includes mantra and chanting as well as the guided and silent meditations. I would love for it to have a function where you could record that you meditated at a certain time even if you didn't use the app. For instance I don't use the app when I attend a SKY meditation group in person. But since I didn't use the app it cuts off my streaks. It would be a really nice addition I think.
I used to love this app, it was perfect! Then came a big update where the appearance totally changed. It feels really cumbersome to start a meditation since you now have to scroll down, manually set an ending bell (I’ve forgotten a few times and so I’ve gone over my time), and I have to manually input my time since it’s no longer one of the preset times. The overall effect it has now is being clunky to use, where before you opened the app and tapped a few buttons. Very simple. If the programmers are dead set on keeping this layout, it would be nice to have an option where you can save your preferred settings.
