This game ~technically~ provides an avenue for players to earn in-game currency without spending any real life money, and the developers are quick to point this out, but as many other reviews have highlighted, the rate at which you can earn free in-game currency doesn’t even come close to allowing you to play competitively. You need to sink a bunch of money into this game to have any fun, and that’s just the bottom line. Even when I caved and bought some tokens (with real money) to unlock new items, I thought I would be unlocking a whole new set, but it turns out that I could only unlock 3 items within the set, and I didn’t get to choose which ones. And that was only to unlock them. I still had to buy them with in-game currency to actually put them to use. I admit that this game is very aesthetically pleasing and starts out as a relaxing way to pass the time, but it will quickly force you to either spend money, or quit out of frustration. Furthermore, I don’t expect the developers to do anything about this, because I know that this game’s fatal flaw is by design. It’s a trap to get people to spend money and they will never adjust the absurdly slow rate at which you earn in-game currency for free. I would far prefer a game that costs anywhere between 5-10 dollars in the App Store, and then required no in-app purchases to actually have fun after the initial cost.
I love the graphics, the choices and the basic concept of the game. I truly enjoy interior decorating, so this is a fun way to get a few ideas. The only two things I find extremely disappointing about this game, is not being able to “earn” enough money. You only get a decent amount for the first voting set you complete, after that $75 takes a really, really long time to add up enough to do anything with. I enjoy the voting time, since it does help see what others are doing, but more money is definitely needed to keep people interested in completing more challenges. The second thing I find disappointing, our winning placement should be based on how many “likes” we get when others are voting, not how much money we spend. If that were the case, there shouldn’t be multiple uses on items so we are guaranteed to spend the money. I will say, if that were the case I wouldn’t play. At this point, I play just for the fun of designing the space. It would definitely be more fun if I were being judged on my designs though, rather than the amount the room is worth.
This game is the most perfect redecorating game I’ve ever come across. There are no extra steps to just being able to do what you love doing, which is redecorating a fun, virtual space. There are no unnecessary games you need to play in order to redecorate a room, plus the options for redecorating are almost endless. I love that you start off with a whole bunch of money so it’s up to you how you want to spend it and there isn’t the pressure to pay extra to feel like you’re getting the most out of the game. The voting aspect makes it fun too because it turns it into a friendly competition that you can earn gold from if you place in the top 3. I also love the graphics for this game because the rooms look like real photos! I’ve been playing non-stop since I downloaded a few days ago and have already suggested the game to many friends of mine. 5 out of 5 stars FOR SURE! 🙌🏼
While there are a few little things I could be picky about, this is by far the BEST design game I’ve ever played. I love that I don’t have to play a game inside the game to earn coins or money to “buy” more items. I really like the different requirements for each design; it helps to make it challenging and to help me step out of my comfort zone and style, and come up with something new! The voting system is fun and easy and I feel the reward is fair! The cons: I feel that some items cost too much gold/cash. I don’t like having to wait nearly a day to design a new room. I don’t like when more than half the collection can only be purchased with gold. And I don’t like having to wait for collections to be unlocked. This game is relaxing! I don’t find it frustrating or annoying which is nice. There are no long annoying stories or conversations to sit through. Just design and go!
I love home design games, and this one is pretty slick. The room starts off completely white and you get to choose the flooring, fabrics, paint colors, walls, ceiling, artwork, etc. Sounds awesome, right? Until you figure out that you can’t ever earn enough cash or gold to buy more than one or two options in each category. Some challenges come up, and I have literally zero inventory in the “required” flooring type. And the cheapest option is 2290. I only have 1100 cash, which I’d like to spend on something in the room you can actually SEE instead of the flooring that’s 90% covered by a rug. That’s when you realize this game is stupid and poorly thought out. You have no chance to win a challenge at a low level because you’re so limited in what you can use to design with. The higher levels have a major advantage and therefore win 90% of the challenges. Deleting this one. Tired of the frustration. Such a disappointment.
