Pointer Remote for PowerPoint and Keynote

I used this app once to practice my speech and it worked fine. It hasn’t worked since. I’ve tried redownloading and restarting my computer and phone but nothings worked. I know it’s only 99¢ but I’m not happy I wasted my money on this.

Would not work. Waste of money

I had to make a two hour technical presentation to a group of engineers and marketers from a large corporation. The goal was to get them to use my product in their training school. I purchased pointer for my Mac and iPad one week before the presentation. I tried it out and had one issue with the next screen display not working. I sent an email to tech support and they were back to me within a few hours. Turned out I didn't know how to read instructions and it worked fine. When I made the presentation, it was in a high tech classroom with the display above and behind me with a mirrored display on my podium. There was no way to use either a physical pointer or a laser pointer. I used a cross hair loop pointer as the custom pointer on the iPad and was able to see what I was pointing to on the mirrored display while still facing the audience. It worked flawlessly and they ended up agreeing to feature my product in their school. The folks giving this low ratings must be using the pc version because I had no issues with the Mac version. My only criticism would be the appearance of the program could use a little polish.

A remarkable utility for Keynote presentations that functions smoothly and effectively. Imagine, a pointer and slide controller as convenient as your phone. Computer-to-Computer works well on my network. [I will need to wait until I want to do this on a foreign network as to its simplicity.] Box drawing to select a region of the slide is very slick and beats virtual drawing with a cursor. A deal for 99 cents. While I have not tried a Powerpoint slide show, Keynote is very important to me because of its unique transitions and comfortable interface. The cubes rotate perfectly and all the intraslide transitions function properly as well. Customization of the pointer cursor beats to death using a typical laser pointer where you keep looking for the dot. All in all, an excellent app that significantly enhances an already iPhone product.

I have bought and tried out all of the remote apps for Keynote/Powerpoint. This one is the winner. It was obviously designed by someone who actually makes presentations. The nice big control buttons on your iPhone make it easy (and virtually invisible to your audience) to change slides and builds. The easy-to-use pointer and box/circle highlighters are simple and intuitive. The only feature I haven't been able to get to work is using the iPhone's accerlearometer to move the pointer. Who cares. The fact that this works with both Powerpoint and Keynote is another plus. When you download the helper app, you will get an articulate set of instructions in a PDF file; a professional touch.
