The POETRY Magazine app delivers all the poems, prose, and special portfolios found in the monthly print edition of POETRY plus exclusive digital extras, such as podcasts, fresh looks at archival content, and contributor essays. Founded in 1912, POETRY magazine is the oldest monthly devoted to verse in the English-speaking world. Its storied publishing history includes poems by John Ashbery, Gwendolyn Brooks, E.E. Cummings, H.D., T.S. Eliot, Robert Frost, Langston Hughes, Marianne Moore, Sylvia Plath, and many others. Today, POETRY continues to present new work by recognized poets as well as new voices. Eduardo C. Corral, Rita Dove, Tarfia Faizullah, Terrance Hayes, Juan Felipe Herrera, Joy Harjo, Les Murray, Claudia Rankine, Solmaz Sharif, Danez Smith, Karen Solie, Ocean Vuong, and many others have been published in recent issues. POETRY is also known for its enlivening book reviews, essays, and “The View from Here” column, which highlights artists, professionals, and others from outside the poetry world writing about their experience of poetry. Recent installments have included pieces by cartoonist Lynda Barry; musician Neko Case; novelist and essayist Roxane Gay; author of the “Lemony Snicket” children’s series, Daniel Handler; the late columnist Christopher Hitchens; hip-hop artist Che “Rhymefest” Smith; artist Ai Weiwei; and philosopher Slavoj Žižek. In recent years, the magazine has received three National Magazine Awards, one for its podcast and two for general excellence.  Why to reply to reviews?

User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.

I love the poetry but would like to see more diversity in contributors. I should because there are barrels of poets from everywhere. I don’t expect you to present lowbrow or poorly constructed poetry, but if you use ignore New or modernist styles, you will miss diversifying your mag because many writers out there are creative and clever in different manners, etc. They are writing differently than 19th century, etc. The Podcast is great and a marvelous idea. I love it. Joyce

I'm so glad the Poetry Foundation re-vamped this app. The layout of each issue is much better, it allows landscape view on iPhone (hallelujah) and the UI is much improved. However, it still has one same issue that the former had. It is still having difficulty retrieving past purchases through iTunes and not a subscription. It keeps saying it can't connect to iTunes. For those who have purchased many back issues (like me!) that makes the app, and also our historical purchases, way less valuable.

Although I’ve also become a print subscriber, I decided to give the app a go and it has not disappointed. Simple, streamlined. Elegant font and enjoyable layout. A new favorite.

A thoroughly superb app having wonderful monthly content as well as storage and accessibility to my favorites list, both classical and contemporary. A "must have" application for us with a proclivity for all things pierian!!

Great magazine, good app, but some poems just cannot be presented adequately on a phone screen. I mainly use the app to preview the print issue before it arrives.
