Peace With Food

I, like most American women, have been very conscious about my weight since I was about 11 years old. I’ve thought I was overweight my whole life. I have counted calories, macros, points, drank my meals, and done everything I could think of or that people told me I should do to be “healthy”. Even at lower weights, I was never satisfied and could never keep it off for long. It wasn’t until I did the research, science-backed research over anecdotal evidence, that I learned that diets don’t work. You can’t fight biology. Eat when you’re ready, stop when you’re satisfied, listen and indulge in your bodies cravings. It’s so simple. And it’s SO HARD! I already had the knowledge and the principles of intuitive eating. I was having a heck of a time putting them into practice. And Peace with Food has helped me with that. I love the push notifications. I’ve been “dieting” for 20 years and can’t always interpret the signals my body is giving me. But every half an hour a push notification reminds me to check in with my body. It’s still hard, but it’s easier with the app. Worth every penny, I find myself thinking about food less, rarely over eating (a big issue of mine), and enjoying food. I will shout about intuitive eating and this app until everyone I know starts to shun the pervasive “diet culture” too.

This app is the best $10 I have spent! I have had trouble figuring out my hunger levels, which often resulted in a massive blood sugar drop when I got hungry. This app helps me to stay in tune with my hunger levels throughout the day. Even in just a few days of using it, I have started learning the subtle hints my body gives that I am getting hungry so that I can prepare better with a snack before I get ravenously hungry. The app also helps me to stay in tune at mealtime; I am more mindful of how full I’m getting and making sure I enjoy every bite. The chart seems so simple, but it is so incredibly helpful! I love that it is just tracking hunger and fullness, vs calories and stuff that remind me of the diet mentality. I am focused on providing adequate fuel for my body, which is giving me more sustained energy both mentally and physically throughout the day. Thank you!!!!

I can’t say enough great things about this app. Works beautifully with the principals of Intuitive Eating by Evelyn Tribole. Not only is the app fantastic but the founders actually care and offer support to their users through a private Facebook group and emails. If you want to heal your relationship with food this app is well worth the cost. I love the sharing feature which makes it great to connect with friends and professionals if needed. You won’t be disappointed in getting this.

This app is an incredible tool to help you find true peace with food. The videos are great, the app is easy to use, and the insights and resources it provides are invaluable! The idea of becoming more aware of your body’s natural hunger patterns and being intuitive about eating plays such a key role in optimal health, peace with food, and overall well being! This app was an answer to years of damage done by diet culture. It motivates you to slow down and rediscover your body’s natural rhythm involving food. Through this app I was able to realize that our body’s are constantly guiding us on what/how much it wants! It’s simple to understand and navigate, and provides accessible resources in creating peace with food. I recommend this app to ANYONE who wants to learn how to work WITH their body and love and enjoy food at the same time. Highly recommended!
