I simply love the simplicity and intuitiveness of the MediaFire app on iOS but one feature that is seriously lacking is the ability to share files and content from other apps to the MediaFire app. I have to go to other apps like google drive and Dropbox for this functionality. I am stuck with being able to upload only pictures and videos from my camera roll.
I only have videos on this app so I can't speak for photos, games, documents, or music. I have too many photo and video apps and wanted to condense them to one app but I am not able get my videos from MediaFire to download back to my phone. The only thing it will let you do is download the link so that you can view your videos on MediaFire. This is BS, they are my videos and I should be able to get them back on my phone and not just the link to view them on their app! So I have personal videos of my children and my pets that I can't get back now and I deeply regret using this app to store them there. I wrote to the company to see if there was any way for me to get my videos to upload back to my phone and I heard nothing back from them. Crap app, crap customer service!
You can upload your files to it by the folder, but download only one at a time. Once they have your files, they hold them for ransom—either you spend hours downloading them back piecemeal, or you pay to upgrade. There is no desktop app to move files easily. You can’t move files from one storage to another on a mobile device. And none of that would be so relevant if they had the smallest function to read PDFs: you can’t pick up where you left off. You have to scroll back to your page, and it’s not equipped to read ePub or open it to an app that is. Minimal functionality, and it holds your files for ransom. Total trash.
I've been using this app for more than 10 years when most other well-known and now popular similar apps did not even exist. And for free! Most of my important documents, almost all of my phone pictures are securely stored in MediaFire. I still have plenty of storage room. They never changed policy to say, "Now you have to start paying, or..." Keep up the good work.
DEVELOPERS I posted this review 3weeks ago and no reply at all... Absolutely pathetic Guys, get with the program. Your competitor MEGA does background uploading of single selected files with their app! Why not Mediafire? You only offer background uploading if you agree to do a complete camera roll backup!!! This is unacceptable!! I want to multitask on my phone when uploading a single video! Also fix the upload status icon. It always shows 10% complete during an upload even when it is truly 25, 50, 75, 99% complete! I'm a loyal paying monthly subscriber. I Pay on time every month! Mediafire your about to loose a monthly paying customer (Me).. My review represents many other people with the same complaints but didn't write a review.. I'm sure they just use a different service now... Oh and support of Gif's would be nice and would put Mediafire on the cutting edge!! Fix these issues and 5 stars you will have!
