Mandrake Boys

I really like this game and the way it handles collecting and such. Not only do you collect the mandrakes themselves, but you collect stories to give them some character development which is absolutely wonderful. I know it’s a little rough on things like grammar and mild spelling errors, but this is translated from another language so I’m pretty cool with that. My main issue with this app is that there is the option to play other games and reach a certain point to get stars. It sounds cool, and it usually does work...but only usually. Not once, but twice I reached the point I needed to in a game and did not receive any rewards, so I just about wasted a couple of hours of playing a game I wasn’t very interested in in the first place for nothing. I even tried waiting about a hour to see if it would show up, but to no avail. I hope at some point this may be fixed, or if there is some sort of time limit that it be expressed because I didn’t even take half the day to do the tasks I received no rewards for.

Thank you so much for bringing this game into English app stores! I absolutely adore it and the artwork it shows off. I don't really have much to say that hasn't been said already. The prices for seeds, as well as the potion drawings in the lab, could be reduced as it's hard to save coins and stars for them at times. However I do have some questions. First, will we be getting event mandrakes with special illustrations like in the Korean version? Second, I'm assuming you guys plan on catching up to the Korean version with all it's seeds, features and events, will this mean you will be adding new features consistently, but only a few at a time, or, do a few updates over a long period of time with tons of content added in those updates? Finally, I noticed a typo in the star purchasing screen, as it shows in the image that you can purchase 550 stars but says you can purchase 500, little typo but I thought it'd be helpful to know! Again thank you so much for this game! I plan on playing for a very long time 💖

I don’t normally write reviews for games, but I felt the need to do so for this one. Mandrake Boys is a game that doesn’t require an extensive amount of time, yet you still get so much out of it. Exactly as the game advertises, all you have to do is log in every now and then and make sure to tap the pots so you can collect the characters. If you want to pay for stars to get rarer characters, then you can, but I have yet to feel a need to. Partly because this game is so relaxing that I’m not stressed about it and partly because you can gather stars and coins in the game. Though paying is rather rewarding to; when you unlock particular seeds with stars that grow rarer characters you do not have buy them again to grow those seeds. I think that makes this game very fair. Aside from all of that, the boys are very cute and I love getting rewarded with little dialogue stories and illustrations. If you’re a fan of anime or you like anime boys, then I say play this game!

The game works fine, characters are unique and adorable, stories are pretty interesting although some have pretty bad spelling errors and missing words, all around a good game. My favorite part of the whole thing is lil Cinnamon in the opening, he’s such a sweetheart who brightens my day. Keep up the good work lil Cinnamon~ Edit: My newest issue is being unable to delete more than one friend every 12 hours. So if you have countless inactives, you’re stuck with em for another 12 hours while the new requests you sent out to multiple people can only be accepted by one, so your chances of mass befriending is slashed to pieces. Yet another Edit: My newest and biggest issue lies with the free star system. I’ve played games before to the point I was supposed to but it never gave me the rewards for them. The one I have currently it only gave me the one reward, there were two; for having 20 4* heroes and 10 5*. I didn’t get the second reward and now I’m stuck being unable to acquire anymore seeds. It’s very irritating.

Update: Things are fixed! Thanks for being quick to fix things! Absolutely love this game! I’d give it 5 stars if it was working properly right now though. This is a sudden problem too as the app was working fine not even 24 hours ago. For some reason it freezes on the loading page after completely loading and then crashes, force quitting the app before the garden ever shows up. The characters are adorable and unique and their stories are entertaining to read. There’s so many to collect and it just keeps growing! After some time it does feel like it’s hard to build up coins and stars but it’s not too bad if you can spare just a couple minutes a day a couple times a day to check in on things. There’s ads you can watch about every 20 minutes to get a star and if you let them build up you’ll be able to get quite a lot. I do wish that some of the seed packs weren’t quite so much but if you like to complete something before starting a new thing, you’ll probably have a decent amount of time to build stars for the next pack. The more rare mandrakes in packs often seem to take forever to finally get but it’s so satisfying when you actually do get them! There’s probably a lot more I could add but this is already pretty long and I feel like I’m just rambling on so yeah. That’s the review.
