Jinvoo Smart

I have had Jinvoo in every room of my 3,000 sqft home for over 4 years now. It has worked flawlessly and is integrated with Alexa which is also in every room, which has resulted in a totally voice controlled environment..... which works automatically without voice commands as well. We are now able to control our home from anywhere in the world. If you are looking to automate your home or office, and don’t want to spend tens of thousands of dollars going through an “ automation contractor “ Jinvoo Smart is your answer. I enthusiastically recommend this product.

It was easy enough to get my two smart plugs working a week ago. I setup timers for each and it worked well for a couple days. On some days the timer wouldn't turn the plug on or off, but I could always do it via the app no problem. Today neither of my lights turned off. When I went to check the app it said both devices were disconnected. There was no easy way to reconnect (like a retry button) except to setup via the hotspot and connect it. What a pain, but it didn't take too long. It connected and the custom names I set were still there, but my custom timers were not! Cmon people, let it download it's schedule and turn on/off without it having to be connected. Also hopefully new firmware or an app patch correct the disconnect / reconnect issues.

We received 4 Jinvoo smart plugs and love them. Only thing was we could only have the app on my husband’s iPhone because I had updated to the new iOS 13 and the app would not work. I emailed the developer and he emailed me back and said the update would be submitted in a couple of days. After it was put on the App Store, he emailed me and let me know so I was able to get the update and now the Jinvoo app works perfectly on the iPhone with the newest iOS. Thanks Michael!

A while back I brought a smart socket to replace an old timer one. At first It came broken but then got a replacement. It was on sale. The app is really basic and doesn't have that many options. It can get a bit tricky to use, but it works if you get around it. Sometimes the servers can be offline so that's a thing. There is no support. I tried messaging their support team but never got a reply. That was half a year ago. They never reply. Overall if you can get their products on sale and you don't mind it being very basic and having no app support then it works.

Back in the day, I had X10 automation bricks all over the house controlling Christmas lights, house lamps, and other wall plug in devices. Sometimes they worked, sometimes not. These new WiFi controlled units are inexpensive when on sale, more reliable, and full-featured. I feel like George Jetson when I tell Alexa or Google to turn on and off the lights! Like X10 on the computer, using your smartphone to create schedules is great too. Time to have an X10 fire sale on EBay!
