Honey Smart Shopping Assistant

I droplisted a dyson hair dryer (usually $400 and does not go on sale) in the Honey app thru Ulta. The next day I opened the Honey app to find a honey gold offer (7300 honey gold) worth $73 on it. For those who don’t know, honey gold is the Honey currency that can be exchanged for most major retailer gift card (100 gold for $1). So it’s equivalent to getting $73 discount on a never discounted item I’ve always wanted. Needless to say I instantly snatched the hairdryer and have now been happily using it for over a month. Since then I realized that a lot of items I droplisted through the app received gold offers. Combined w store coupons I’ve gotten so much discount on items that I actually want. The app definitely changed the way I shop and I now go to it consistently to get extra discounts I can’t find elsewhere.

I placed an order yesterday, and was told that I successfully placed an order in-app. Once I did it, the app kicked me back and it seems as though my order didn’t go through since the item is still in my cart and I never received a confirmation message. I immediately contacted support because I don’t know if I should try again or if my order went through and I don’t want to be charged for something twice. It says they get back to you in a few hours for immediate questions, yet it’s been over 24. Sent another message today, maybe I’ll get a response this time.

I always hear people talking about honey and how great it is. I ordered something two weeks ago and both seemed like good deals and it looked like this was the cheapest place I could find it. Great deals that ai really liked and since I’ve bought the items, Everytime I check it says “pending.” I do not have a confirmation number and I’ve been waiting for a while to see some sort of update. When I want to go check the actually website with the email honey made in place of my own, the “honey wallet” I don’t even see any emails come through when I check the app. I’m getting frustrated and I’m wondering why this is happening. I would like to know if this is normal or not, and if it is, how much longer will I have to stay waiting, and if not, then why is it happening to me. Can someone please respond?

I thought I would stretch my holiday spending dollars by shopping with Honey. My order was cancelled and I received no communication about this. I called, after a month and not having received items I’d intended to give as holiday gifts. I was told my order was cancelled. I was unable to verify information on my account because the vendor had a different email address, credit card number, and order number than my original purchase receipt from Honey. For this reason, I was given only “general information” about my order. I am very let down. I thought I had finished my Christmas shopping on November 25th. Now I am frantic to find the gifts for my grandsons at this late date & get them shipped to Alaska before the holidays. Thanks for NOTHING, Honey!!

The prices listed on honey are often higher than their regularly priced counterparts. For example, the game GTA V for xbox one is listed on honey for $30, however if you google GTA V, even gamestop has it for half the price. Another big issue is the selection. There’s hardly anything on this app. You would have to just be browsing & not hope for anything specific while using this app, because odds are, if you’re looking for something specific, you definitely won’t find it on here. Even if you do, you’ll probably pay more for it than you would elsewhere. I HIGHLY recommend you don’t even bother with this app unless you want to waste your time.
