Hearts++

The multi-player game is a blast. Now there is a “rated” game which is even funner than the regular game. Any time you feel like playing a few games of hearts, there are always many players out there willing to play. The single-player game really isn’t that good, but it does re-teach you how to play the game if you haven’t played in a while. Also, when someone quits in the multi-player game (which is nearly every single game), a computer player steps in and that always somewhat ruins the game (the AI in this game really isn’t all that sharp and doesn’t grasp the intricacies of the game). As for the “rated” game, I really would like to see the developers find a way to punish the quitters. For example, if you leave the game early, you get an extra 5 points deducted from your score (I think that most people would stick around for an extra 5 points).

I play this game any time I have time to kill like sitting in the doctor's office or on the throne. I've played thousands of games and have a win rate of 68.9%. I find you have to "shoot the moon " quite often if you expect to win so hold for that any time you think you have a chance. Enjoy! One change I would like to see is that you could see the scores all the time. I find myself going back to look at the scores several times during a game. It would save a lot of time if you could see the scores from the playing screen.

This publishers Spades game is fantastic !! This game “ Hearts “ is terrible !! I played 50 games on all 3 difficulties . On easy setting, I won the fewest games. While I love a challenge a novice just trying to learn the game is going to throw this game away. The A.I. Knows your cards . Play it enough , you’ll see what I mean. It’s not intuitive, it’s clear by the sheer amount of times That it throws the worst card for you at the worst time . 9/10 games it will do this. The simplest answer is the easiest , So, it knows your cards. The A.I. Will come after you the real player even if you are loosing where on a real table , every player goes after and typically teams against lowest score to give them time to level the scores and possibly gain the upper hand. I was hopeful for this game but it is wildly unrealistic , poorly tested and not very well thought out in regards to all levels of skill based play. I would say, don’t purchase the no adds version, it’s not worth it for Hearts but Spades is a fantastic game .

The cards are stacked every time. Most hands I’m dealt one or two spades, always the queen, king and ace. Always. The odds couldn’t even be calculated on the odds of this happening. So, they pork you on every deal and then gang up on you. They will pass up setting the other computer players to get you, every single time. Emails to them always say to the contrary so it must be terrible programming to have such lopsided deals evey single time. Not fun. You never have a chance to win against these cheaters. 10/18: still broken. Deals are completely stacked fix the deals and it would be fun. Upgrading to 2 stars. The interface is really nice, much better than all the others. They still cheat like a MF. Either that or the developers are not very skillful in designing a fair deal. Either way, they screw you every time. That being said, the design is nice.

To get good hands you must buy tokens, you are booted when a player has not discarded and is holding the game up because they bought tokens and you haven’t. The cards are not randomly dealt ,but the software has been setup to give the player who buys tokens an edge. The hands are no where near realistic, I have played. Hundreds of hands, and seen seven or eight cards from the same suite dealt to a player, a moon shot about every four or five hands. I have seen players make two moon shots in a row. Then if you do make a moon shot you can’t subtract from your total, you must add the points to your opponents total, I have moon shot several times only to lose the game game due to this rule. Of course this rule is in effect so you will burn your tokens up and buy more. I will never buy tokens from these crooked operators.
