Healthy Paws Pet Insurance App

I love how HealthyPaws has their own app that can be used to submit claims. All you need to do is choose a pic from your Camera Roll or take a photo of your invoices. Hit Submit and your done! The only reason I'm giving this app 4 stars is because it lacks the option of viewing pending claims. Sometimes I forget which invoice I've submitted and would like to see what is currently pending. Other than that, definitely recommend this app to all HealthyPaws policy holders.

I’ve recommended HealthyPaws to countless people. Recently, however, they’ve change writers (I’m not sure what that means, but that’s what they tell me) and it has not been a good experience. I have been waiting for three months now for them to determine how to transfer a pet to a new owner without having to sign up for new coverage (and losing my old coverage). Probably not usually a big deal, but I cannot be the only one who gets divorced and has to transfer payment of a pet policy to a former spouse. They keep telling me they will let me know and that they don’t know how... Claims: almost everything I submit now gets denied despite obvious coverage. I’ve got a canned email response stating why it’s covered that I use for appeals. To their credit, they generally get it right after a while. Finally, the app: arguably the best part in the past. I could just snap a picture of the bill through the app and be done. Not anymore. It doesn’t work with iOS 13. Clicking on anything (my claims, submit a claim, etc) within the app just brings up a blank screen. Judging by the reviews, I’m not alone. My support requests about updating the app have gone unreplied to.

The company has friendly employees I’ll say that. However, it is VERY disorganized. I’ve had to get my vet office to submit the same pet records 3+ times now. I have also called the customer service line twice now and they are seeing the medical records on file. However for some reason the claims department can’t seem to find any of the 3 emails containing my pets records. I’m starting to think they are just looking for a way to drag it out until I forget I even filed a claim. This is the second claim I have filed and I have had a less than satisfactory experience both times. Needless to say I will be cancelling immediately once this is done and going with a different company. Maybe they just grew too quickly and don’t have efficient systems in place yet. Regardless, it’s a waste of time and money to deal with these clowns.

The people at healthy paws are amazing. They have exceptional service. They also process checks fast. I have had two issues with my cat and both times the process was smooth and easy and the checks were sent to me in a reasonable time frame. Make sure you read before hand about what the insurance covers and doesn't. The app itself is responsive and laid out in an easy-to-use manner. If you love your pet get this insurance!

I spent three months trying to cancel my subscription. After the operator was unclear about the necessity for written cancelation through email. I had to call another 3 times over the next few months to cancel and receive a refund, all the while being charged again twice! If I did not call the third time I would have been charged again. My refund was only about a quarter of what I was requesting because of their “written request policy” which I was unaware of until our final conversation. Poor service and a serious lack of help. I will not be returning to this insurance company.
