GYEE - We are the same

Major Improvements Needed. Fix all the bugs and glitches. I expect a major update soon :) I’ve been playing this game for awhile. It has major potential (great graphics, unique story, character development is good, depth) to compete with some of the best games especially for the unique storyline and the different audiences (queer friendly) it can serve. First of its kind I’ve seen on the app. HOWEVER, this game feel like it was released too early and I wouldn’t recommend playing it until it’s done with being it early beta stages if not omega. Several things need to be completed before I can give it more stars too. The developers need to listen to their audience and make adjustments. I’m surprised the developers don’t have a more in-touch conversation with people who are leaving reviews. This game should not be focused on expanding or adding new content, but rather focus on cleaning up the user experience. The amount of bugs and glitches is astronomical. Once the game is actually running smoothly there is so much expansion that can happen with new character and bosses. There’s a lot of land related Gyee, but aquatic ones like squids, mermaid, and serpents would be great addition to this boy fantasy game. I will continue to add more points as I go, but I don’t want it to be lost in translation that this game has a lot of potential, but needs help with cleaning up all the problematic touch points within the game.

I was going to give it a 5 but I can’t get my exp up to level up. I try and try but all I do is get little points that don’t help me get leveled up. You need to keep leveling up for the main story but I just don’t have the levels for it. Plus when you finally get leveled up for the story the chapters are so short. Then after you finish a chapter you have to level up 3 levels. There’s not enough things to do to keep your character leveling up. Yes, I know you have quests but they barely do anything for exp. I can’t enjoy the story if I have to take days to make sure I have the right levels to do it. This game is beautiful! I love the character, the storyline, and the interactions but I can’t enjoy it please make more ways to get exp or just up the numbers for it so you get more. Getting 3 or 6 exp for some things is just frustrating when you need 300+ exp.

I’ve played my fair share of gacha games & thought I was done with them, but then I heard about GYEE - an LGBT themed anime fantasy - and had to give it a shot. I’ve never played a game that leans so openly into queerness, and you can tell a lot was put into this game art & character design-wise. Mechanically things are pretty messy though. The UI is congested and confusing, the translation needs refinement (it’s difficult to tell exactly what most characters are saying due to poor grammar, which hinders both the story & gameplay explanations), and its pretty buggy. The combat is turn-based (think older Final Fantasy titles), though I can’t tell whether there’s an auto battle feature or not (update: there is, you just have to unlock it during the story mode). The gacha elements are in the form of characters, with the booby prizes being enhancement pieces (though I haven’t figured out how to use these yet). I’m hoping the mechanical issues are fixed, because the game has a lot of potential. I’m still testing this out, and ultimately wish this was a full paid game instead of a freemium gacha game, but I’ll play this until it feels like I’ve gone as far as I can go without either paying up or grinding like crazy.

We were in Taipei for pride last October and saw this game advertised there. I tried using the original app but just couldn’t overcome the language barrier. I am so happy finally to have the English version available in the US! The game makes so much more sense now that I can read the descriptions and understand dialogue! As for the game itself, I’m not very far in yet, but I love the mechanics so far. The characters are interesting. I am excited to dive in deeper!

I want to like it because the caricatures and story seem interesting... but the UI isn’t friendly, there’s so many currencies that make it confusing.. I don’t understand half of the menu. :/ wish some of it was simplified. Started getting runes from one thing, some other medallion looking things from a raid? Hope they can clean up the UI and add some help screens in different things. Also make it a bit easier to understand how to summon GYEE and get the square things to summon them. Shop is a giant mess???? Love the games concept. 3 stars because there is potential.
