Funding Circle

This is a good, robust app that gives a summary of your account. Pretty simple to use and I can’t remember it having many problems over the last few years. Feels secure and gives you some useful functionality. Would be better if it had all of the functionality available on the website, eg being able to see statements. Also, the background photos are a bit cheesy!

Love the app on the phone and iPad but could be even better: 1. Storing card details would make things simpler. I drip feed my account so sometimes add funds two or three times a day. 2. I use my iPad at my desk and my phone when out. Unfortunately I cannot use my three digit passcode on both as I keep getting logged off when I use ‘a new device’ and I keep having to log on with my email address , password and go through the ‘are you a real person’ process. Can you allow two devices with the three digit passcode please. Santander and nationwide apps seem to do this ok. Otherwise everything is excellent.

One or two improvements I’d like to see. First one not only concerns app but website too. Many companies can now store your card details securely can’t this be done by FC? It leads me to the second point, when I make a transaction, my bank sends me a passcode to enter to complete the transaction which means I have to go to my messages to retrieve this. When I return to FC I have to fingerprint again & the app resets to the first screen. My passcode is then rendered useless, I have found a workaround by opening up messages at the same time & flipping windows but this only works if I have an open thread from the bank. This is very inconvenient.

The fingerprint login was a huge improvement but sometimes it'll still log you out and prompt for email, password, and secret question. It also resets your progresses if you switch apps to go to your password manager. The app is looking good and becoming more useful. I mainly use it as a quick overview of how investments are doing. A timeline graph of the return rate after bad debt would be nice to see if investments are going up or down. P.S. The new feedback prompt closes the app and fails to open the app store when choosing "It could be better" > "Sure, I'll leave feedback".

I’ve been using Funding Circle for about nine months now, and so far I’ve not had any issues regarding the service or the app. Everything runs smoothly, logging in is easy, checking your portfolio is simple, and they literally take care of everything once you’ve deposited your money. The layout of the app is easy to navigate too. I’d recommend it!
