Absolutely love the concept and it is easy to load things up to offer. However messaging through the app is painful - there doesn’t appear to be any logic in how many tones or what combination of the done and send arrow you have to hit to actually send the message. Sometimes it simply crashes out or the message disappears entirely. I’m hoping this is a glitch with the new iOS but other reviewers obviously have similar problems. There are some great little features-adding photos to messages, easily clicking a button to send directions, update availability or quickly send a confirmed offer. The menus at the top aren’t always hugely intuitive but a little bit of playing around opens up the huge wealth of functionality which is great. The 3 stars is because the need to be able to message quickly and easily is pretty fundamental to the app’s usability. Sort this and it’s and easy 5.

When creating Give away, Take Photo crashes after photo is taken , recurring. Use Photo, from picture library, works ok, but can hiccup when selecting multi photo, only crosses one, add more and the initial photo is displaced ? Feedback to review the logic here. Like another reviewer, the messaging isn’t easy, but does what is needed to help us freely give away free stuff rather than bin it, so keep up the good work. Great easy to use app makes freegling a breeze. Have re-homed through given away over 50 items via the app and yahoo previously.

Freegle has a great ethos - rather than throwing something else you can post it to your local community group and find someone who is interested in taking it. I’ve had a lot of success and it has really helped me clear out the garage. The app, however, is extremely awkwardly designed and could do with a serious rethink. I have taken to giving my mobile number or email address to people to arrange collection times because this app simply cannot handle sending messages in a logical way. A lot of the time after typing a message and pressing the send button (which isn’t clear in the first place) the message either disappears entirely or goes somewhere else. I will keep the app but I think this clunky design may impact engagement with what is clearly a very worthwhile idea.

This is a great app, it works well and I don’t understand why it doesn’t have a 5star rating. The initial glitches on the internal app messaging system seem to have been sorted out, and the Event and Volunteer posting work really well, allowing photos and poster images to be added, as well as a repeated event feature. I’d encourage everyone who isn’t already a Freegle member to sign up and support a vibrant nation-wide community of approaching 3 million members to encourage reuse and keep stuff out of landfill

This makes freegling so easy! I can take a photo with my phone or iPad and use it straight away with no faffing about. I advise anyone I deal with to use the app mainly because it’s notifications are more reliable than waiting to see whether my email provider decides to deliver emails to my inbox, to spam or not at all, using the app I get an alert if someone has replied to me so I can get in touch straight away.
