On the positive side, this app conveniently places login information automatically without user prompt, making the login process swift, but it isn’t without bugs, being a test pilot app: Every time you manually enter login info for the first time in a website form, Lockbox asks if you want to save your login, but for certain websites, this does not always pop up. One particular website, after Lockbox places the info, says that my account does not exist, but I can log in using Apple’s password auto fill. Hopefully in the future Mozilla will give the ability to manually enter new passwords directly into the app, and edit existing password info as well. Keep up the good work.

Is the rabbit hole I get sent down attempting to login. Why it doesn’t accept my previously saved password from my iPhone I don’t get. But no worries, there’s the reliable forgot password link right? Not so quick..email address, open email inbox, press reset password link, (blink) what? It wants my email again? Ok, but wha? Check my email for a reset link? Ok, back to email, find email, press reset link. Ok, now we’re moving right? Wrong! Bad pathway? But you opened the pathway. I just pressed the link you sent, the second time around. Maybe if I contact someone for help it’ll be better...click link....what? How? I need to login to get help? But I forgot my pas....press forgot password link....enter email address for the @#*! time, email app, inbox, find last on the growing stack of boo things to reset password emails, ...now, slowly this time, it is a reset password link right? Unless I’m having a stroke, it looks like a reset link, it’s from the right people, success seems so close now as I again get this annoying red bad pathway message like I pressed with the wrong finger or some other sinful mistake that I cannot be allowed access to this or to a working reset link. Good thing I’m allowed to delete apps. Bye FoxLockOut app. And I used to get along so well with that orange fox.

I was hoping to use my FF account's password store as a cross platform way to keep passwords in sync. It just barely meets that use case in the most minimal way but lacks some critical features of the iOS keychain. Managing your passwords is completely impossible in Lockbox, which doesn't have the ability to add, delete, or change passwords in the database. You have to go find a desktop computer to do any work on your passwords. Not even Firefox for iOS lets you do this. So much for cleaning up my password situation. To add insult to injury, the UI is a phone sized eyesore and completely fails to take advantage of an iPad's larger screen, even going so far as to use the horrible scaled-down phone keyboard. One day this might be useful, but at this point it is way too half baked to go all-in on.

I really wanted this tp be a good app, first off the logo design is incredible I don’t know who designs the icons and logos for all the Mozilla Firefox related products but they’re excellent. Second I trust Mozilla as a company and usually love Mozilla software. The problem with this password manager is it feels vastly incomplete. The app first time setup feels oddly vastly more polished then the actual functionality. The UX of the app leaves a lot to be desired, including but not limited to the ugly placement of the search bar icon, the absence of a Dark mode, and no way whatsoever to add additional non-Firefox passwords. Together these problems mean it isn’t worth using this app for the time being. If and when this app gets some kind of overhaul, I can’t wait to use it because I’d love to be able to use one unified Mozilla software suite.

I use FireFox all day everyday on my Windows laptop and iOS devices. Safari is my back up or how I save new passwords to my iCloud keychain. I was hoping this app could be an extension between my Windows device and my iOS devices but it doesn’t auto lock when I leave the app or close it. It holds the instance of where I was at making my passwords accessible to others. So, I changed the lock out to 1 minute but that doesn’t give me peace of mind. I know their is a LOCK OUT button but I would feel more comfortable if we had an option to automatically lock out when you leave the app. A few seconds to wait on a finger print or FaceID seems like nothing when it comes down to my passwords. For now, I will just use the FireFox browser to get my passwords. I’ll come back later and see how this app has come along.
