Early Words With Splingo

Early Words with Splingo is the latest app from the authors of the highly popular Splingo speech therapy apps series. Early Words with Splingo was inspired by one of the young people that we work with in our clinical practice. Samuel was playing our original app – Splingo’s Language Universe and, although Samuel loved the reward game, his cognitive ability and language comprehension levels meant he found the vocabulary and language structures too complex. It stuck us that we needed an app that contained very common everyday vocabulary and directions that were developmentally appropriate for younger children and those with more significant developmental needs. We also knew the app had to have a reward game with immediate feedback to keep children motivated. We spoke to other SLTs/SLPs who agreed that there was a gap for such an app and so Early words with Splingo was born! Like all our other apps, Early Words with Splingo is fully customizable, enabling you to select specific vocabulary to target in therapy and teaching. The app also has the option to select between US voice and UK voice and also has a Voice Record function that encourages children to practise using their own expressive language.

Identifiers from your device are only collected for internal usage to help improve app design and performance. For example, information is collected on app crashes, number of installs (sales) and app usage time. This is collected through a third-party provider; Flurry which is part of Yahoo (https://developer.yahoo.com/analytics/). The restricted version of Flurry Analytics ("Flurry") is used. We do not track any more information than is necessary to improve the quality of our apps and services. The information collected by the third party provider is used solely by us and not shared with anyone else. None of our apps contain In App Purchases Our apps do not use or collect a user’s geographic location. Our apps do not contain Social Network Integration Our apps do not contain any advertising banners. Our apps may contain links to our website and Facebook/Twitter pages. These links are found on a contained, adult-targeted settings screen separate from game play screens, and are for parents/professionals to find out more about our apps. In our newer apps these links are behind a parental gate, which requires the user to follow a written instruction to gain access.
