Drone Buddy: Fly Drone Safely

I own and run a small production company that specialize in a few different things. We do a lot of videos for real estate company’s to help them advertise their available properties, we also take Aerial photographs and videos of airports and construction sites for civil engineers and architects (I’m about to make my point haha). All of these things involve flying drones! This app has become one of the most important apps for me and my drone crew! Super easy to use, and give us all the available information we need to make sure we have a safe and relatively easy flight every time! If you fly commercially or just for the hell of it I highly recommend this app!

There is nothing indicating that a purchase must be made before downloading the app. When an app is free to download but has locked features that you pay to unlock then the App Store says “In-app purchase available” which this doesn’t say. It also does say anything about paying for services in the description. I opened the app and it tells me wind speed daylight hours and a map that shows my location with some very limited flight information. It shows me where airports are and that’s it. It doesn’t allow me to search or give any information regarding the current locations flight status. There are other free apps that offer more information like the actual FAA app that provides regulation information flight plans and device registration. What does this app do? Nothing that I can’t do without it

I live in a place where the wind could be perfectly still but have extreme gusts out of no where, I’ve learned to expect these but Drone Buddy makes it so much easier to monitor wind for its accuracy and it has probably saved me from tons of crashes that would have happened otherwise. The new UI makes it so much easier to use and looks stunning, I hope everyone can give the review I can because this app is great and I hope you think that too👍🏼

I needed a simple app that would tell me the cloud coverage and wind speeds prior to drone flights. I tried 10+ weather apps and all of them had the wind feature hidden behind many steps whereas this app has the wind speed on the main page as soon as you open it. Perfect. I have not tried the paid version yet but seeing how great the free version is I’m motivated to buy.

This is an app with actual utility. I like the wind and sunshine hours information. The maps with the restricted zones help make this a one stop shop app for planning my drone flights. I also like the idea of the local chat with others, it should be useful when I travel to new places and have questions.
