Look, kid. You're not even a contender. You're a nobody. A total long shot. The champ is a stone cold killer. As big as an ox. Stronger than oak. But you got a lot of heart, kid. And Mickey loves you. Deck 'Em! is a boxing card game. Try and survive twelve rounds with the undisputed champion of the world, and you'll be a winner in my books, kid. Much like solitaire, the object of the game, much like many card games, is simply to play and strategize. Each fight is different. Sometimes you'll win. Sometimes you'll lose. Highlights include: • Endlessly replayable • Incredible art • Simplified gameplay • Intuitive controls systems • No ads • No IAP* • 100% Free * Tips welcome. :)
First of all this is a really fun card game. Kind of like boxing solitaire. The mechanics are really well-made and feel fair. I also like the ability to bet on yourself, although I wish it were more clear if the odds predicted difficulty difficulty of the deck or if they are randomly chosen. Not a big deal, I guess that’s part of the thrill of betting. But one thing I do think could be added is something to spend all that money on. I think the obvious thing would be to add the ability to purchase your own gym and supplies. Or maybe cars and bling. Even if it were only aesthetic just having a room to call your own and spend some of that money on would be a nice little motivator to keep coming back for more. Alternatively, you could add cosmetic differences to the fighter cards. Another possible addition would be more variety in the champ cards, perhaps connected to how much money you have earned. Regardless, these are all just a minor suggestions for a really great game which I will continue to play, even if it doesn’t change at all. It is just a great way to burn some time, and is a great addition to any puzzle lover’s collection.
I rarely pre-order any games, let alone an app, and when I do I have big expectations. So when I saw that it downloaded I had no clue as for what to expect. I am pleased to say this game has huge potential. I love the art style, and how everything feels lived in. The animation of everything is really well done and I’m excited for future updates. So much room for levels, different fighters, more champs, maybe even a story. Multiplayer too would be possible. I love this game and wherever the developer’s go, I’ll be all in with them! Although, I do have a bit of underwhelming feels as well. I mentioned potential because what the game gives now can be a little lack luster as there is not much to do yet, but play as three characters and fight against only one champ. Given I have only played for an hour, hopefully future updates will build on the world and give more variety. Some people may get bored after a few days, but I think the waiting game would be worth it as for the love that is behind this game! Some final thoughts would be this game needs you to be patient. It may not give much now but it has heart and a lot love behind it and I’m sure this game will be so much more in the coming months. So if you want wait for an update or two and download it because I don’t want comments to rate it bad for being short. Do download it now and enjoy the simplicity and colorful game and be ready to see where the developers plan takes. Thank you 9/10
I preordered the game and I wasn’t sure how I would like it but I really loved it! I see so many spots to add stuff and improve the game and I’m really excited to see where it goes. Weather that’s battling real opponents, spending your money on like good things and dumb things, like help for battles or new outfits/arenas, I also think having like a little ladder to climb your way to the top by fighting bosses would be fun. There’s so much more that could be added and I think it can expand and expand. I love card games like this and it’s so fun so I wish the best for it!
I’m stunned. The ‘buildup’ of this game and how you can preorder it on the App Store fostered an anticlimactic experience while playing. The game looks polished but in actuality is very unbalanced. The champ cards are too high. 14? When my punches deal 4? 5? There is no point to betting and the betting system makes no sense at all. My money goes up much more than what the numbers say at the end of a match. The characters are just for show. No stats involved. Just that plain number 21 you start out with. Yay. I was expecting a deck building game with much more to it. After reading that once you last through round 12 there is no reward or anything at all, I ask myself if there is any reason for me to play. If you want to put in the work..... Add a deck building component so you can actually get better as a boxer, have more exciting cards (incorporate a referee and crowds, use your imagination, be CREATIVE), and ultimately a fun and rewarding experience. This should be the main focus if you’re gonna keep dealing champ cards of 14. That alone is enough to keep you busy as if you were developing a new game. But I don’t think you will listen to me. This game is too short lived and barely makes it as a card game. I am disappointed in myself for expecting so much. Sorry for the negativity but, I just had to.
The game is fairly easy to pick up and has a fun simplicity to it. I would suggest maybe adding a multiplayer mode (like a 1v1 battle), maybe a little career mode where u could fight against different characters, and other uses for cash other than betting such as skins or even power ups. If any of these would ruin the point of the game that’s fine because i would still play it anyway lol. i’ve been looking for a simplistic game like this anyway, overall pretty fun would def recommend!
