CruiseMapper

I’ve used this app for at least a year ever since I was bitten by the Cruising Bug. I found the app to be easy to use and very current with the information. For instance, I could track a ship going thru the Panama Canal and then verify its accuracy thru the canal webcam But, they recently made a change on the color coding of the ship lines. They are now coded and grouped together by the parent company ownership. For instance, Carnival is now the same color as Holland America, Princess, and all the other lines of Carnival This makes it much more difficult to find the location of your favorite ships. Guess I’ll start exploring other apps to see what they have available One other side note. They requested if any problems or questions to not use a review and to use their website. I tried that but that area is well hidden if actually there ... hmmmm

This app is nice and quickly displays the locations of all cruise ships worldwide, including those in the middle of the oceans outside of the range of AIS receivers. It also shows the annual itineraries of most cruise ships. It would be nice if there were more than ten filters for cruise lines as there are still a lot of large cruise lines that have been lumped into the “Other” category. Additionally, the app should not show icebreakers in the “Other” category and exclude these as it does other commercial, non-passenger vessels.

The app does what it says and I was able to track friends’ cruise ship.

I have the most recent app update. I am on iOS 12.1.4. When I open the application the map is blank there is no ships no continents are shown on the map. I cannot move anywhere on the map. I have removed and reinstalled the application and still no luck. This version worked when I first updated the app but has since stopped working.

Fun to see all the ships and get information regarding itineraries and ships amenities. The tracker feature is however frequently more than a day out of date and there is no obvious way to update it so its usefulness in actually following a ships progress is virtually nil
