Color Land - Build by Number

The game is very relaxing and looks beautiful, the gameplay is very simple but everything is very smooth and feels great. My main complaint is that the balancing is awful, coins are very scarce and deplete super quickly, all the microtransactions have horrible value too, $2 for 5 packs that you could get for free watching 5 ads, and only give you about another 10 mins of gameplay tops. I can’t imagine anyone buying the coins either once they realize how fast they go. The F2P side is basically this: open game, spend a couple packs to get a few tiles, run out of your coins populating those tiles, come back in 10hr when you have another few thousands coins, rinse and repeat. You get like 10 mins of playtime twice a day if you’re lucky. I’d gladly run ads for you guys to gain coins like you allow with packs, but at these resource rates currently I don’t see much entertainment left here. I hope the devs realize how fast you rocket through resources because of the complete lack challenge or larger maps, because at the current rate even dropping like $100 on this would probably get you like, 40mins of gameplay?

6467 I love this app! It’s fun and artistic! But I’m constantly watching ads because I’m out of coins. When you choose a tile you make the ground, items and coin items. Coin items are the items that cost coins. I had more than 5,000 coins when I chose a tile; then when I got past a few of the coin items it said I was out of coins to finish the tile. 😢 Anyways, I chose to watch a ad to get more than 9,000 to finish the tile and when I FINISHED the tile I had 6,467. What I’m saying is that the coin items are WAY to expensive. So if you get this app know that you are going to be needing to watch a lot of ads. Though, I would definitely recommend this app! And you may think that giving the app 3 stars is a little much but it’s just because the items are too expensive but really I chose a tile (having something K) (Example: 4.3K) that example is there in case you don’t know why I put “something K”. Anyways, then I finished the tile having....... 3,000+. You may not believe me but really it’s true!!! Well, have a good rest of the night! Bye! 👋🏼

The game definitely has a good concept, but it starts getting annoying and stressful after a little bit. You can only move on to coloring another piece of land by using a little pack thing and you only get them over time. And another thing is that in order to finish a world, you have to get three stars on all of your pieces of land. The only way to get three stars without in game purchases is to use the coins that they give you in the beginning to purchase other little items to put on each tile of land. It’s annoying because if you use up all your money, you have to wait hours to get more. If you think this a game that you won’t play a lot and will only play occasionally, then i would definitely recommend, but if you were planning on playing this all the time, this might not be the game for you. I don’t know, just keep my review in your brain when downloading this app.

Update: Contacted the dev about the broken refill counter and got a stock answer that didn’t address my issue at all. If this isn’t fixed soon I guess I’ll have to uninstall and play other games instead. I really liked this game, but there’s a couple problems. For one, since the last event it seems like the refill counter for the stuff you need in order to play is broken. It counts backwards. So I haven’t been able to play for a couple days. The other problem is the dev seems to really be forcing people to subscribe. I get they want to make money and I normally wouldn’t mind supporting an app I enjoy and play daily, but it’s like $180 a year, which is 3x more than Pigment, which is a lot more for your money (you can use Apple Pencil, import your own stuff, and color stuff over and over). I would consider subscribing if the price was significantly less. I also wish you could pay a small fee to unlock a map or something to give an alternative to that steep price. I’ll keep playing if the problem with the in game currency reloading ever gets fixed.

I’m not a fan of the new update. In the past version of this game you could continue the whole puzzle with out being a VIP. However, this new updated version is different. Certain parts on the puzzle, you have to be a VIP to unlock certain parts of the puzzle to fully complete it. I’m not a fan of this new update. I would go back to the old update if I could. This developer or any other one for that matter should not have their applications like this. It’s making people pay for something that a lot of people can’t afford. There’s a lot of people who have a lot more to pay for then paying for a VIP membership to the games. I would like to see this version of the update be a choice, not something you have to pay for to complete each puzzle 100%. Other then the recent update, the game is great. I would like to see the option though where you could pay for the VIP if you wanted too, not something where you are basically pushed to pay for. This is my only complaint about the game.
