CalConvert: Currency Converter

Sure, I gave it 5 stars. But that’s because the app does what it’s supposed to do. It’s a calculator. I don’t understand what all the hype is about. Lotus 123 was doing this back in the 1990’s. Texas Instruments was doing this in the 1970’s. Hell, the abacus dates back eons. Sure, this app has more features, but let’s be serious, it’s a calculator for the iPad - not a contribution to the welfare of mankind!

Okay, let’s be fair: No one expects a company to develop an app with no reward for their work...so I expect ads, and there’s nothing wrong with that. If I like the app, I may purchase the ad-free version. The problem: This apps ads are time-consuming and intrusive. I need to use a conversion app during time-sensitive preflight planning, to convert different charts with different measurements...to determine if it’s safe to fly in remote areas. I don’t have 30-60 seconds every few minutes to watch an ad, nor do I need to lose my train of thought when I’m making decisions that could literarily kill me or others. So I cannot “try before I buy” with the ads this app uses—I cannot “give it a go,” the ads are too distracting for that.

#1 currency symbol should be left-aligned, next to the flag (currently throws off right justification for currencies without symbols such as HUF) #2 app should open with my same numbers as when closed (currently resets to zeroes) #3 if decimals are set to '2', currencies should always show 2 decimals (currently shows 2.30 as 2.3) #4 units should be searchable (there's too many currencies to scroll through) #5 the calculator and convertor should be either integrated, or on the same page. I'd like to add/ subtract/multiply ON the currency converter page

This app is really good, overall. It has a lot of adds while u r trying to do ur work, the only way to remove all of the annoying adds is to buy it for $16 and for me that’s a lot, of I had to pay that much to remove adds then I’d rather use my regular app that the phone comes with. But overall it was a great app! I loved the backgrounds, the only thing I’d change is the price, it’s really high. But great app besides that problem, definitely would keep using it! Helped me a lot and I mean a lot!

If you want a calculator for your iPad/iPhone that is quite functional yet easy to see and easy to use, thus is the one. It just plain does the job! In the last update they made the numbers light grey in color on a slightly darker grey background. It was infinitely easier to see when the numbers were black. I have no idea which “genius” decided virtually no contrast was better but obviously he/she is young and has excellent eyesight, many of us enjoy neither trait.
