Bhagavad Gita - Song of the Lord Here in this app, we present the original Sanskrit Verses along with Tamil Transliteration, Tamil Translation, English Transliteration and English Translation. We will add more languages one by one in future updates. The Bhagavad-Gita is one of the most ancient religious scriptures of the world. The discourse was delivered originally in Sanskrit. The antiquity of the Bhagavad-Gita is hidden in tradition, ancient scriptures, myths and legends. Its history, content and personality are intimately connected to the life of Lord Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu, who played a crucial role in the war of the epic Mahabharata. The Bhagavad Gita is an Integral Part of the Epic Mahabharata where Lord Krishna speaks to his devotee Arjuna just before the onset of war. Their discourse has become one of the greatest philosophical dialogues took place ever. The Bhagavad Gita has been highly praised numerous times by these famous people, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi The Bhagavad Gita's emphasis on selfless service was a prime source of inspiration for Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Gandhi told-"When doubts haunt me, when disappointments stare me in the face, and I see not one ray of hope on the horizon, I turn to Bhagavad-Gita and find a verse to comfort me; and I immediately begin to smile in the midst of overwhelming sorrow. Those who meditate on the Gita will derive fresh joy and new meanings from it every day". Swami Vivekananda Swami Vivekananda evinced much interest in Bhagavad Gita. It is said, Bhagavad Gita was one of his most favourite books. In 1888-1893 when Vivekananda was travelling all over India as a wandering monk, he kept with him - Gita. Hermann Hesse Hermann Hesse felt that "the marvel of the Bhagavad-Gita is its truly beautiful revelation of life's wisdom which enables philosophy to blossom into religion."
