Ada – check your health

I used this App when I had a nasty throat infection and couldn’t get an appointment to see my doctor, the throat infection consisted of ulcerated blisters at the back of my throat and on my tonsils etc, I used Ada to track my symptoms and it came back with “Herpangina” (not an STD even though the name suggests it lol) in the end my wife took me to A&E at our local hospital as 1, I couldn’t get an appointment to see my doctor in time, and 2, it was incredibly painful to eat/swallow/drink which resulted in me losing weight and if I’d of gone any longer dehydration. Whilst in A&E the nurse just put it down to “throat infection” (in other words she didn’t know). I suggested could it possibly be Herpangina, to which the nurse in the A&E department had never heard of, and while she I was there she had researched it on her computer and comparing images on the internet along with symptoms with me she said, “you’re right, it is!” And that in “40 years of her being a nurse she had never heard of it” in the end, Herpangina was my diagnostic, so thanks to Ada I was able to get the right treatment for it. But all in all Ada is an amazing app, I would 100% recommend!

Ada is such an amazing app! I’ve recently been having trouble with my tail bone. It’s hurting like crazy, especially when I try and get off of a chair after sitting down for a pro-longed amount of time. This issue has been going on for around 3 weeks now. I got worried, so I asked Ada. It asks you a series of helpful questions. There are no ads, no subscriptions. It’s great. The assessments don’t take long. At the end of the assessment, Ada will recommend some health-care facilities near you that you could visit. Then, it shows you a bunch of possible causes, and whether you need to go to an emergency care, seek medical care or whether it can be usually treated at home. After a while, Ada will ask you if your symptoms are better or the same. Even if you don’t think your suffering from any type of medical condition, Ada is a great app to have nonetheless. You don’t have to give them a single penny, and not one single ad pops up. It downloads super fast. Once you click on each possible medical condition, it has an arrow showing you why it might be that. For example, Ada asked me do I have redness on my tail bone, I selected yes, therefore there is an arrow pointing to why the app thinks it could be that. It’s great for those people who hate visiting the doctors whenever they got a symptom, so they can have peace of mind. (I’m not saying don’t visit the doctor, but I’ve had experiences where the app knows better than the health-care professionals).

I would highly recommend this app to anyone! When I first downloaded this app I never really thought I’d use it however I’ve now used this app quite a few times and it’s always been accurate with what’s actually wrong with the correct diagnosis always being in the options weather that be likely or highly unlikely. This app reassures me and helps me to decide if or not I need to go to the doctors! Up to yet it’s not let me down 💕 If I could change anything about this app like some other reviews have said I would suggest a chat box were we can talk to other people with the same/similar symptoms so we can discuss home remedies or over the counter medicines that may have worked for them or yourself 😊 Thankyou for such a useful and wonderful app!

I would highly recommend this app As it has always been spot on accurate, didn’t think I’d use it much but have used it a fair few times not just on myself but on others too and it’s better than waiting weeks for an appointment if it’s not necessary, also better than using google. I love how in depth ada goes to find out and how many people out of 10 had the condition with the symptoms. Very little room for improvement because I think all in all it’s a solid app and very helpful as well. If I could improve anything I think a chat box to speak to others to see what they did or even leave a comment at the end to say what they did with their condition.😀GREAT APP

Really helpful when looking to self diagnose, analyse your symptoms and make decisions about when to seek further help from medical professionals. The symptom tracking would be amazing if you could link it to other apps like my fitness pal, Ptracker, exercise apps or even just through the Health app on iOS which acts as a central repository. The ideal functionality would being able to cross-correlate symptoms with other lifestyle factors (diet, exercise, mood, menstrual cycle) and could help users to manage their health better AND provide more useful data trends to their doctors for health diagnosis. I would pay for such functionality and it would invaluable for vulnerable users who can’t always get to the doctor.
