ABC KIDS listen

This app is our new ‘carrot stick’ for getting our daughter to bed. She listens to a story time session as she goes to sleep. It’s been great! However Thomas the Tank Engine story is louder than the other shows and we can hear it blasting through her door - it’s a big enough change in sound that it would wake someone up who was drifting off to sleep. Unfortunately every story session fo far always has Thomas in the middle so I can’t choose one with him at the beginning and set the volume levels based on him. Can you please make sure that the volume is constant through a story time session? Also I can’t seem to find a way to remove a downloaded story time session, I just have to wait until it disappears. It’s either not there or not very obvious. It would be useful to be able to remove it to be able to reclaim storage on the phone. It would also be useful to have a time stamp in the story sessions playlist of when each story begins within the session so if we just wanted to listen to one story together I could know exactly what time to skip forward to it. The next amazing thing would be if as a parent we could create our own story time playlist and choose our own set of 4-5 stories from a list based on our child’s interests.

Lovely! When I’m bored listening to it, I sleep and listen to it, or if theirs instructions I do them. I like how you don’t have to do the live schedule and you can choose your own music. I hope that five star rating bar gets to the end! You do stuff based on Australia and all tourists will find this app and find the based on Australia stuff! Can you do so you can do 0-2 live radio, 3-5 live radio, and 6-9 live radio? Because it might help with parents and kids who use it. I also want this because I use it and I saw lullabies on after school, and I want a more organised radio so after school I don’t need to listen to lullabies. -Freya

I use this app with all three of my daughters. My eldest loves the quiet time to help her to go to bed and my middle daughter loves the sing along. I use the sing along and lullabies for my youngest. I love that I can download for use in the car and I know I have lullabied for when my youngest wants to sleep in the car or I use the singalong one at school pick up and drop offs to keep everyone entertained on the drive. Great selection of kids songs from well loved performers like the wiggles, play school stars and jimmy giggle and hoot, all performers my kids know and love and great selection of kids songs that they can sing along to. Well done on a great app ABC

I just love this app. My toddlers really enjoy the ability to pick story time or songs or party songs etc. It has been such a great tool for many things, but especially calming them down. Lately bedtime especially, while my husband and I were both unwell and lost our voices so we couldn’t tell them stories/sing like we usually did to put them to bed. Being able to turn on this app saved so many tears and helped ensure we could rest like we needed to! putting on some music/stories/songs just helps them nod off. Great selection. Good options. Love it.

We’ve been long term listeners to other kids radio apps and as fans of abc kids we were exited to try this app when it was first released. Unfortunately The on air schedule is only on EST and there’s no option to change the setting to WST for WA listeners. (Thankfully) my kids don’t wake at 3am and they are certainly not ready for quiet time at 9:30am. I know we can listen to the programs separately but I’d rather not have to be playing DJ with my phone in hand while going about our routines. I thought after a few months this would have been fixed but it doesn’t seem to have been solved the way other apps have managed to do it. Until then we will have to keep using other similar apps instead.
