Store Performance Index shows overall performance of your app on app stores. It is based on combined ASO & reviews metrics.
This application is designed to provide up to date information about bush fire data in Victoria, Australia for users of Android devices. It utilises data from the Victorian Country Fire Authority/Victorian Department of Sustainability data feeds on fires with your current location provided by the phone GPS. Using this information the application is able to provide a list of fires showing the nearest ones first, helping you to understand your current situation. The information is reliant on both the accuracy of the phone's GPS and the data recorded on the CFA's website. This application does not cache any data, so Internet access (either Wireless. or 3G) is required to access the data. Be aware that while P4G has utilised "best efforts" to provide this information to you, it is not intended to replace other sources of information on the fire situation near you. Also remember that fire and weather can change quickly. All data is provided Copyright from the Victorian Country Fire Authority and the Victorian Department of Sustainability. User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
Very slow to report in comparison to the Gov app. Adding multiple zones is difficult, the only way I found out was via a previous review. Doesn't work in way or offer features or workability that is expected from an app that you pay for. More like a limited trial version experience. Wish the refund option was available for longer than the blink, not worth paying for at all. Could not find any help files either. Should have believed the essence of the previous reviews 😔
Poor design. Only way to add a watch zone you are not currently at is to navigate to Fires/Map/long press and try and find location manually by repeated zooming. Ridiculous. Many users wouldn't realise this. Should be able to enter Town/address. Even then, the address of the saved watch zone changes! Difficult to set zone radius exactly using slider. Should be able to enter from keypad.
Not great - hard to filter down to the sorts of alerts you care about. Signal:noise ratio is poor. Difficult UI. Not something I'd want to be relying on during bushfire weather. Also doesn't seem to be actively maintained so I don't see much hope of it improving.
Just downloaded and very frustrating. Won't let me save a watch zone. It will only use the current location but calls it 'Home'. I managed to set up home via the map, gave it a different title but it reverted to the 'home' current location, no sign of the customized one.
Nice App....but not as informative as the original App (VicFire). We are not Americans, please change the date format to reflect the standard Australian written sequence. (Day/Month/Year). 👍
