High quality media player supporting USB audio DACs and HiRes audio chips found in the latest phones. Play up to any resolution and sample rate that the DAC supports! All popular and less popular formats are supported, including wav, flac, mp3, m4a, MQA and DSD.<br><br>This app is a must-have for every audiophile, bypassing all audio limits of Android. Whether you use our custom USB audio driver for USB DACs, our HiRes driver for internal audio chips or the standard Android driver, this app is one of the highest quality media players around.<br><br>Version 5 now includes a MQA Core Decoder (in-app purchase required). MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) is an award-winning British technology that delivers the sound of the original master recording. The master MQA file is fully authenticated and is small enough to stream or download, while also being backward compatible. The Tidal streaming service supported by USB Audio Player PRO features many tracks in MQA and offers a great opportunity to experience MQA.<br><br>The MQA decoder will unfold the MQA stream from 44.1/48kHz to 88.2/96 kHz and can also be combined with certain USB DACs that feature an MQA renderer (e.g. AudioQuest DragonFly / iFi DACs) for further unfolding to even higher sample rates.<br>Please visit http://mqa.co.uk for more information about MQA and https://www.extreamsd.com/index.php/mqa to read more about MQA inside the app.<br><br>Note that the official Tidal app resamples audio back to 44.1/48kHz on many Android devices or upsamples to 96/192kHz when using a USB DAC and cannot deliver a bit-perfect signal for MQA rendering!<br><br>Features:<br>• Plays wav/flac/ogg/mp3/MQA/DSD/SACD/aiff/aac/m4a/ape/cue/etc. files (even 24-bit and 32-bit). <br>• Supports a USB audio DAC connected by an OTG cable (if your Android device supports USB host mode)<br>• Plays natively up to 32-bit/384kHz or any other rate/resolution your USB DAC supports by completely bypassing the Android audio system. 5 stars for audio performance. 3 stars for UI and usability. It would be nice to have an option to get album art on line. Navigation from any screen but Now Playing is all by Android basic navigation. Why not using some mid screen swipe gestures? Also, after playing with usb DAC, the system is "locked" to send USB audio only to this app and can't use spotify for example, unless I activaly exsit the app.
A very capable app, technically speaking. This dev has figured out a unique solution; app sounds better than foobar, at least in my system. But the streaming UI function/design is poor. Doesn't sync nas albums to the library. The flow to access LAN drives is cumbersome and UI lacks signifiers, lots of failed touches to open a location. File explorer page has touch accuracy and signifier issues, also doesn't recognize basic # order logic. For the price, I expect better, hence the 3 star rating.
This is a great app with some gorgeous equalizer and playback options. My concern is when I'm trying to use anything else sound based, it seems to steal the audio through type C and will play other media through the phone itself. I love my flac and wav files, but there are other options out there I like. Fixed by reinstalling the app and not giving it auto perm on media connect. Morphit feature is my favorite.
I am using Samsung Note 9 using UAPP to listen to tidal and my library. But when I enable usb to be controlled by UAPP, I cannot hear sound from YouTube or other apps. I have to unplug and disallow UAPP to take control. Very annoying. I tried tweaking around all settings but still can't fix. When I unchecked the box to play through android when no USB dac, the sound will play thru the phone speaker. But if the box is checked, then no sound, and sometimes the video will stutter. Thanks for prompt response. Upped to 4 stars. hope this can be improved to give a better experience in the future.
It has its problems, but the developer is one of if not the most responsive and dedicated that I have seen out of any app developer on the Play Store. Ensuring compatibility with so many devices is not an easy task, and I feel like most developers would have burned out and called it quits by now. You can feel confident that money spent on this app will not go to waste and it won't become abandonware
