Has been a great addition! Until today opened app, got black screen w/ motor trend and nothing else updated and same thing! Wouldnt complain , but I am PAYING for the subscription! Not great! Any help would be appreciated! Update! After reading further, followed directions, uninstalled and reinstalled! Problem solved. Changing rating back to 5 stars !! THANKS!!
First off you no longer can stream for free they make you pay. The videos used to be free and I was okay with them making the current episode the only one you could watch but now, if you don't pay 14.95 a month nothing. The 14 or 15 day trial is a crock, as far as I know you will be locked out after the trail and you can't use the trial again. I think that's the same price as their magazine subscription. I'm officially turned back off Motor Trend and Hotrod mag. Roadkill is what brought me back
So far the Android app has been outstanding and easy to use. It's well thought-out, and well laid-out. I just wish they would apply this to their Roku app as well because it is a Trainwreck compared to this. Update: 2/1/2020 --> They fix the Roku app!!! After working with them for about a week rounding up some technical information from me they fixed it via an app update. so far this is one of the best support teams I have worked with when I have faced issues with an app.
video play back is poorly optimized. I am using a note 9 which has a 6.4" screen. "full screen" video playback is around 4.5", with black bars on the top, bottom, and sides. It is ridiculous that the playback wastes 2inches of screen real estate. (around 30%). Most other apps allow the user to adjust and "zoom in" durring playback. With the support of Velocity one would hope MotorTrend could develop an app for a screen larger than an iPhone 4 or Galaxy S 3 ( which were released in 2012)
When I open the app on my Galaxy S10+, the Motortrend logo on a black background stays there forever. I've had this issue ever since I went from an S7 to an S10+ (about 6 months). It used to work fine for me. Update: I uninstalled the app and reinstalled it. Now it works fine.
