Good app with lots of useful capabilities like meetings / video calls or regular calls, desktop or app sharing, chat, team space, wiki, file sharing...but sometimes it doesn't work and won't connect or start a meeting, or calls don't go through. Probably some bugs but it can be pretty annoying and the only way I can get it to work is to reboot the whole laptop.
If your workplace uses Microsoft Teams, this app is a solid companion. I love that push notifications are *highly* customizable for each type of Teams activity, and that most of the desktop app's core functionality is present in the Android app. Rich text editing is also a nice inclusion. However, SharePoint integration and file editing are still buggy and third-party app support is pitiful, but the devs are doing good work with the hand dealt to them by the Microsoft ecosystem.
The general app is fine for the most part but falls short in important mobile features. Notifications that ask to join a meeting don't open the app when "join" is clicked, much less open the meeting. Audio is a nightmare. I use a Bluetooth headset with my phone for all other apps and although Teams can see it, it forces audio to "device" without explanation. Days it does work, it's still 50/50 if it will use the mic. Today it said audio was through "device" but was actually speaker.
Firstly the good. Instant messaging works and has all the expected modern features. Meetings works to for video/audio conferencing. The audio call quality is really good. File sharing in chat is nice. Now the bad: Android gets a raw deal...features that are on iOS are not available on Android e.g. screen sharing. Notifications suck. No matter how many permissions and prioritization I give this app, if I don't open the app at least once every few hours, you don't get notifications.
Very good option for field service and remote employees. You can communicate with everyone in group or private. You can set up multiple groups for different topics. You can get your schedule and see who else is working. You can set remiders and add notes. You can also use the app or the web version and they sync. I had a few issues with my schedule updating to the phone but that may have been my team leads fault. It's all working great now. Quick link to Shift button would be nice though.
