It's silly that when you mark a book read it does not set the date finished as the date it was marked read. It makes participating in reading challenges frustrating. As in, i actually chose not to (and just deleted my challenge), because in order for the books to count I have to go through several more steps to get the dates set so it would count. It was a fun idea, but that's just too much extra time to spend on it.

Needs improvement You cannot save lists. This is extremely annoying if you find a really good list of books, you have to go and mark every book to 'want to read' and that clogs up your want to read section with same genre books. Why cant you just let me save whole lists so I dont have to go search for them every time? Also doesnt show alternate editions of books. INCLUDING translated works. Here I am thinking some books were never translated into English, but they were! How annoying!

Love Goodreads hate the app. Goodreads itself is great but the app is missing too much functionality. Searching for a specific book is a nightmare. You can type in exactly the name of the book and it will not be in the first 50 books that come up listing books with not even similar titles first. There is no way to search books by genre and sort them by average rating. This should be a key feature. Finally, when searching for a book why is there not a handy link to the rest of the series?

Although the app runs smoothly and is designed very intuitively, it doesn't seem to accord with the website; a certain book may have 4 reviews in the app while on the website 17 reviews are displayed, all of which are also different to those presented in the app. I've also found that refreshing the page of a certain book (within the app) causes the review number to change sporadically, going up and down in deviations. Lastly, the summation and averaging of ratings is faulty.

Seriously it is unbelievable why there has been no update allowing users to choose and browse through different editions of books. It was the whole point of Goodreads website to be able to add exactly the same edition you have read/bought/whatever and this function is not available in the app. Scanner does not work properly, it does not see some of the editions available on the website even though the ISBN is the same.
