Tools for ASO (App Store Optimization)
TL;DR: On the eve of the first AppFollow anniversary we’re launching our next big thing — a set of App Store Optimization tools available for all our customers including those on Free plan.

Three years ago, when there was no AppFollow, even no idea of the service, our CEO & co-founder published it’s first article on App Store Optimization. Could he imagine to what this would lead to?

ASO was one of the founding stones for AppFollow but surprisingly enough it was never on the first front of the service. Until now.

We’re are very happy to announce that after almost a year of hard work & internal testing, we finally launching our next big update — ASO Tools by AppFollow.

Free ASO Tools for everyone

Today App Store Optimization has become a mandatory part of every mobile app marketing strategy. Severe competition within the top charts & advertising budgets lead to a growing popularity of ASO. And, in its turn, ASO lead to the development of different strategies on how to implement it within the app’s title, keywords, description, icon, screenshots, etc.

We in AppFollow have been developing this strategies almost from the first day of our company as this was the way to gain appstores expertise & knowledge and as well how we can help our fellow developers in their everyday life. At some moment we started to develop internal tools to simplify & speed up the process of keywords research.

Now we make it public and we’re happy to give everyone an opportunity to use it for their own needs, even if you’re an AppFollow user on Free plan.

Our ASO Tools include:

1. Suggest & Search

This tool helps to find popular search requests and suggests in the App Store and Google Play as well check suggestions and search results on iPhone, iPad and Android in different countries in real-time.

This can help in two main ways:

  • find proper keywords & search terms that can be used to form your semantic core;
  • see your competing apps & track them through AppFollow to learn more about their ASO strategy.

2. Search Ads Quality Score

Search Ads were introduced by Apple last year and now it is the only tool to learn the real value of this or that keywords that fetch to your app.

Each keyword has it’s quality score calculated by Apple’s algorythms. The value runs from 5 to 100, the higher — the better. So, now you can learn which keywords and search terms you need to add to your sematic core.

Currently Search Ads works only for USA but we expect that Apple will roll out them to more countries soon.

3. Trending Search

This is simple yet very important tool that helps understand current trends for App Store and use this knowledge to optimize your keywords so that you can make the most of the current moment.

4. Google Sheets extension

Another tool we developed for you is Google Sheets extenstion that can help in shaping your semantic core.

You can learn how to do it in this article.

5. Keywords tracking

All our tools work perfectly with our Keywords tracking — a feature that allows you constantly monitor search results positions for your & your competitors apps.

Any keyword or search term from ASO Tools can be easily added for tracking. And, of course, we have Slack integration so you can get this updates within the selected channel.

Last but not least

All this became possible thanks to our ASO team. So, if you need help in shaping your ASO strategy, we’ll be happy to help with a particular advice or develop a plan for your app from scratch.
