In September, we started a new chapter of AppFollow — AppFollow 6.0.

Now, AppFollow is a more powerful app management service that covers the needs of nearly each team member involved in running mobile apps. But we definitely don’t stop here. We saved more features for the rest of 2020. More features mean less of your time spent on manual routine and more time on actual meaningful tasks.

In this release: full support of the new Google Play Console, updates of Review Management Automation, Wordcloud for a fast understanding of what your customers talk about, more accurate count of reply effect on your app rating, brand new rankings page, more precise branded traffic analytics, new countries in Downloads estimates, new Free plan (more features to try for free!), and something else.

Shall we proceed?

Review Management Tools

Semantic rules for Review Management Automation

Another tool on your way to getting satisfied users.

Now, auto-replies and auto-tags will be even more precise as you can set up rules for reviews based on review sentiment and semantic tags. Meaning that you can create more accurate responses to reviews than ever before. Besides, Semantic analysis understands 20+ languages, translates all reviews and groups them by topic showing topics’ title in English, so you won’t have to check any dictionary.

You can set up an auto-tag “urgent” for negative reviews that mention bugs and a tag “less urgent” for positive reviews that also mention bugs.

For example, you can set up an auto-tag “urgent” for negative reviews that mention bugs and a tag “less urgent” for positive reviews that also mention bugs. Or you can set up a rule for all reviews with a semantic tag “thank you” and a 5-star rating to be sent a positive auto-reply.

Wordcloud

Your app may get a thousand reviews in dozens of languages, but it’s hard to get a quick overview of what all of your users mention the most. This chart gives you an idea of what bothers or makes your users happy all around the globe.

Like a little Santa’s helper, it processes thousands of user reviews, their sentiment, and shows you who has what on their mind (not just words, but also phrases for a better context). What is left for you is just a creation of rules for auto-replies and auto-tags and fixing those queries users mention the most.

Charts for understanding the effect of your replies to app rating changes

When it comes to evaluating the efficiency of your responses to reviews, even numbers after the decimal point count. Our new algorithm that shows rating changes after your replies became more accurate and now is able to provide you with valuable insights.

Those insights can be used for evaluating what responses led to an increase or decrease in reviews’ rating. Based on this data you can build a more efficient reply strategy and use wording or templates that work the best. After all, replying to reviews just for the sake of replying to reviews is not what you should aim for.

Download Estimates Trend: 40 new countries and categories

The number of downloads needed for getting to the top of app stores charts differs from country to country. Meaning you can not build your strategy for launching in France based on estimations from Germany. That’s why, starting from Nov 23, we expanded our Download Estimates tool by adding 40 new countries from Europe and APAC.

Building a strategy for a multinational launch is now easier than ever. Read more about Download Estimates here.

Subscriptions Report update

Subscriptions Report is now Free for all, so you can start tracking changes in subscriptions, activations, churn rate, trial-to-paid conversions. You can also process all those metrics via Subscriptions API into your own dashboards or BI tools.

Organic traffic and ASO Tools

New Google Play Console support

In summer 2020, Google announced the launch of its new console with more data and better UI. Early November they stopped support of the old one. We were carefully watching their moves and updated our service so it now supports the new Console. What does it mean for you? All the data for Android apps is now available every day and is much more stable than in the legacy Console. Also, Google Play Search & Explore channels are now including Google Ads and UAC data. We are working on extracting solely organic installs and will keep you updated on how it goes.

New Category Ranking page

Rankings page turned into a proper tool for tracking app ranks history and trends worldwide. It indicates how many countries an app ranks in its category in top 1, top 10 and top 100. Top Growing and Top Losing blocks allow you to see the best and worst-performing countries. The maps breakdown all countries your app is in the top 200 where the darker the color the higher your app is in the charts. And the last part of the Ranking page shows positions breakdown per day.

This tool serves well when you want to forecast your app movements in top charts. You just need to find a similar app or your competitor and check their ranking history.

More accurate branded traffic data

To help you get more accurate data on the power of your brand. You can now choose what keywords should be counted as branded keywords, request them to be considered as branded installs and get a better understanding of how popular your brand is. For example, we may not consider a keyword “Tinder dating app” as branded, but you may think differently. So you’ll need to tick it and add to the branded category.

Our new extended Free plan

We love our users and always strive to make your life easier by developing new features. We also understand that not at every stage of your business you can afford a paid plan. But it doesn’t mean you should limit your app growth. This is why we added new features to our free plan and increased limits. Now you can track apps in all available countries, add up to 300 keywords, send 100 responses to reviews, and get full access to featured apps timeline. Besides that, you can try our Subscriptions report, too.
