Voalte Me connects caregivers outside the hospital with Voalte One users inside the hospital. Using personal smartphones, care teams communicate and collaborate via cellular or Wi-Fi connections for access any time, anywhere. Voalte Me gives doctors and other clinicians a HIPAA-compliant alternative to standard texting. PLEASE READ BEFORE DOWNLOADING: To use this application, your hospital will need to have the Voalte Server already installed.

 Why to reply to reviews?

User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.

Our institution rolled out Voalte over the past year. I have found it to be effective to communicate with other physicians, staff and nurses. Unfortunately there are still some issues that make it less affective, particularly on the mobile version. Due to security they have disabled the ability to quickly dictate a message back. This requires me to have to use my phones to “type“ a message. This is obviously not affective. I believe there are ways to add on some sort of voice dictation software to allow for improved medication. Additionally the fact that I cannot see the actual messages on my lock screen or on my Apple Watch is frustrating as well. Every time I receive a message I have to pull my phone out and then open it up and “type“ my reply. Ideally I would be able to use my watch to see the message and hopefully reply. Alternatively see the message and reply to it, as I do for most messages, from my lock screen would be much more efficient. As it is currently it is functional but could be much improved. At this stage I don’t know that I would recommend it to other people. I don’t know if there are better options out there I was I was not part of the organizational push for this to work.

Overall application works well. Badge count gets off frequently and requires application reset. This wastes time multiple times throughout the day. As this is a medical application missing one message is not possible. So it takes a lot of checking the app when the badge account still shows a new message when it already has been reviewed.

This app shouldn’t be released for actual use and should still be in beta. Messaging with physicians should be reliable. I often have to open the app intermittently to check for messages and then will get a rush of push notifications instead of them coming through in a timely manner. My settings for notifications are correct but it’s an error in the app. Also, I cover several sites and this application does not allow for those profiles to be active so I am forced to carry two phones even though one of them is not even active so that I can use both accounts. This app might have promise but I feel it is far below the threshold for active clinical use and it’s performance is inadequate, especially when compared with the TigerText and Perfect Serve apps that I use at my other hospitals that I cover. Developers... please! Please, fix this app since the hospital clearly won’t change. You are impeding my ability to do my job as a physician.

For a messaging app that advertises itself for “critical messaging” it sure is buggy. Particularly with two things: 1. Randomly fails to actually play an alert even when phone is not on silent, not on dnd, and volume is at 100%. I often find missed messages because of this 2. Often takes forever to load/refresh between openings. I might even be in the middle of typing a message and suddenly screen goes to “updating” for 10-15 seconds for no particular reason. Or after I do click on a banner to open a message it takes a good 10-30 seconds to actually update and show the actual message. Using iPhone X on WiFi at facility using Voalte. Phone is up to date. Have tried restarting and reinstalling app and clearing network settings but issues persist. The whole failed audio issue specifically started after most recent voalte update too. This app is not at all trustworthy and is a danger to patient safety.

My hospital just installed this platform......One of the greatest things about the Apple Watch is the fact that I don’t have to pull out my phone to read a txt. Yet Voalte doesn’t appear to support Apple Watch in any way.... so unless i have my phone set up to create a unique sound and bypass DND settings, I will often miss a message. This is NOT conducive to effective and rapid communications between physicians and providers! What needs to happen is to have the full text appear on the Apple Watch and easy handoff between Watch and phone. When will this happen?
