User reviews affect conversion to installs and app rating. Featured and helpful reviews are the first to be noticed by users and in case of no response can affect download rate. This is why it is highly recommended to reply to them.
I used the app to call a cab from my hotel. As soon as I pressed the button to request a ride it crashed. I started it up again and tried again. The app said a cab was 2 min away. I requested again. It didn't crash but I got no indication there was someone on their way and no way to contact anyone to find out. I waited for nearly 10 min and was passed by multiple free yellow cabs. I finally hailed a cab (from a different co) and barely made my dinner reservation. I got a text that my cab had arrived about half way through my appetizer course. 30 min after I had requested it. Then they sent me a bill $3.20 for being a no show. I did not pay it. Uninstalled.
After reading all the bad reviews I didn’t want to waste my time, but I took a chance and downloaded it. We were in town for 4 days so we needed to find an easy way to get around when we didn’t want to walk. The first time I used the app it did close on me twice but after that it work fine. The cabs were no longer than 5 minutes away and all drivers I had were nice. I got a confirmation text within 30 secs after place my ride and was able to semi track the driver. It lagged a little. The only problem I had was setting up a card payment, but I just chose to pay in the car.
Like everyone else here, I can say this app straight up does not work. Whoever designed it needs to go back to school. The app crashes if you try to add a payment method. Once you call a cab, there’s no way to tell if a cab is actually on its way or if you will just stand there waiting for 40 minutes before deciding to walk. When you try to look up “my rides” you get the spinning wheel of death on your screen and the page will not load. Do not bother downloading this. The app should be removed from the App Store. For that matter, use another cab company all together.
I always use YC only because there's no Uber around. Cab drivers are always polite and patient, however the app frequently double books cabs for me. As a result, another cab driver is waiting for me while I'm already on a cab on my way. And then one time, a dispatcher called me angrily and told me to cancel the cab if I wasn't going to use it anyway, and hung up before I could tell her that the app double booked me and I was already in a cab when the other one came to fetch me. Sad!
After reading the horrible reviews for this app, I had to come back and share my positive experience. I was in Vancouver for 4 days and used this for all of my cabs (including a scheduled 4am pickup). I had zero issues and found it super dependable. Very similar to the Uber app. I would recommend!
