ENTER TRUSTORY TruStory is a debate network in which you compete with the best minds in the world. We provide a platform on which some of the most intriguing ideas and controversial topics are brought to light. We encourage logical arguments as this helps foster the best debates in which we can truly learn from each other. Join the discussion today and earn rewards for writing the best arguments. WHY TRUSTORY How often do you feel like your time is wasted by engaging in arguments on social media? You merely desire to spark discussions with rational arguments, but end up inadvertently creating emotional uproar. Why share your opinions when you know your posts will only lead to emotional outrage and personal attacks? There is a better way. With TruStory, we promote the best debate topics which feature well-thought ideas shared across a community group chat that fosters logical arguments and respect given to each one. BE RECOGNIZED AND EARN REWARDS FOR YOUR IDEAS Be part of a community that recognizes and rewards the best arguments. All players start with a TRU balance. The objective is to earn as much TRU as you can by contributing to the debate. You can earn TRU by: - Writing compelling arguments - Agreeing with the best arguments - Downvoting arguments that bring no value to the debate STOP YELLING. START DEBATING. JOIN TRUSTORY. VALUES - Be Inquisitive: Question everything - Be Assertive: Have the conviction to defend your viewpoints - Be Transparent: Be as honest as possible - Be Open-Minded: Entertain different viewpoints and perspectives - Be Humble: Have the humility to change your viewpoints GUIDELINES 1. Understand the issue: Avoid knee-jerk reactions. Invest time upfront to truly understand the underlying issue being debated. Carefully read the claim and existing Arguments before writing your own. 2. Ask clarifying questions: Don’t be afraid to ask questions if you don’t understand someone’s Argument or don’t see how their logic and evidence proves the point the person is trying to make. 3. Listen to both sides: Fully understand the other side before offering your own. List any points of agreement as a way to acknowledge that you heard the other side. 4. Be direct: Address the issue as directly as possible. Present just enough context for the audience but don’t introduce too many tangents. If you have tangential points, save them for the Chat. 5. Provide a unique point of view: It’s easy to bandwagon off other thoughts but that’s not going to get us any further. Instead, reason your way through the argument independently. Bring your unique point of view to the table. 6. Keep it simple: Keep Arguments simple and easy to understand. Don’t be afraid to edit and delete 50% of the first draft to tighten up your final argument. Simple is much harder than complex but leads to a more powerful Argument. 7. Focus on the issue, not the person: Don’t make arguments personal by bringing people into it. The reason conversations become hard is because it becomes an attack on the ego. Keep your identity out of the discussion. 8. Be constructive: No one likes to be shamed. Use constructive criticism. Your criticism should be constructed in a way that makes the other person want to respond. 9. Admit when you are wrong: It’s okay to be wrong. Seek to understand rather than to be right. Openly acknowledge when you are wrong and be willing to change your mind.
