I'm a huge history buff and love Napoleon, so this has turned out to be one of my favorite choice of games. The only problem I've noticed so far is the ending of the game acts as though you've romanced Constance regardless of whether you have or not, and you seemingly can't romance Eugenie without sacrificing parts of the mission. I would recommend fixing whatever the bug is with Constance asking you to practice fidelity with her even if you've never romanced her, and perhaps separating romance opportunities into a different section so you don't feel like you are abandoning your post as a bodyguard to go flirting. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed The Eagle's Heir and recommend it to anyone reading this review.
I'm a big fan of choice of games but have fallen behind in my playing lately. This game reminded me why I love this type of game so much. A rip roaring adventure for sure! Even if you aren't a history buff there is plenty of fun to be had in this what if/alternative take on history. Air ship and spy games and romance and politics galore! I look forward to replaying because there seems to be quite a few endings one can get.
I LOVE this game! As someone who has visited the places in the game and studied the history of the time period, it was a real treat to run around in this exciting alternate historical romance novella. I had so much fun! I didn’t know how things would turn out, and I still don’t exactly know how everything will turn out—so I will definitely be playing over and over again.
This game was amazing! If you're a fan of history and romance, this is certainly a wonderful combination of the two. While playing the game, I had a variety of lovers from both genders, so it's very diverse. Or choose to love no one. Either way, this game is amazing and takes real events and real people and totally reinvents them. It's totally worth the money. :)
Pros: Strong writing and world-building. Cons: Felt like I was constantly reaffirming my character's gender and sexuality and then not getting appropriate choices regardless. Felt like I wasn't able to improve my stats effectively to face obstacles. Game ended abruptly and unsatisfactorily as a result of "choose the right option" at the end. (Didn't realize it was a skill check, so obviously chose the wrong one)
