My first time using this app was a frustrating experience. Make sure you CHECK to see if a particular location is listed, because oddly not every SnS is equipped to take online orders. Long story short, I ended up wasting a buncha my time going far outta my way for a meal I ordered because of this. Naturally, I posted a negative review to vent my irritation. When the app asked if I “loved” it and I answered no, it asked me to fill out a basic form to explain my grievance. The customer service for this app really impressed me. A real person (Jeremy) responded to my message and sent me technical advice to address the issue. When I didn’t follow up, he did and asked if i was still having problems. I still don’t know if I “love” the app, but I’m much more willing to give it more of a chance now.
I just walked out of Steak & Shake very unhappy again. Walked in at at 7:55pm stood waiting to be seated for over 6 minutes, in a restaurant with 3 tables in use. There were 7 dirty booths and 6 dirty tables at that time. The waitress was taking an order and visiting with a family of 6 for approximately 10 minutes. The hostess finally escorted me to a table. I asked for a booth as several were empty. She curtly took me to a booth that had been cleared but not wiped down.(not one of the dirty ones I had counted). She got my drink order asked if I was ready to order, I wasn’t. She brought my drink and I ordered at 8:20. Food came at 8:40, 2 more tables occupied. My chilli and fries were lukewarm. Never checked on me after food delivery. The same tables and booths remained dirty. 3 customers came in while I was there. 2 seated themselves and 1 waited and finally asked where he should sit after getting his own menu. I finished and went to the cash register at 9:00 and waited about 5 minutes to be checked out. Steak & Shake is a place that has been our family favorite for 2 generations. Love the food. But the Vincennes restaurant is not up to Steak & Shake reputation for service and food quality.
Went to Steak n Shake and one waitress was the cook as well as our waitress. Our fries were cold, asked for hot fries. Twenty minutes later we got hot soggy fries. Plus she got my order wrong. My hubby wanted us to bring back a steak burger for him as well. We decided to go to a different Steak n Shake from having had a bad experience where we originally had gone. I walked in, waited ten minutes while a heavy set manager was on her phone. She finally came up to the register and waited on someone else ahead of me. I didn’t say anything. Meanwhile a gentleman was paying his bill and he said to the cash register gal “is that the manager in the black with the tattoos “? The gal said yes and he said he wanted to file a complaint. He told her that this lady (me) stood there ten minutes before she got off her phone and then she waited on other people before me”. He said he wanted this noted. We eat at Steak n Shake a lot. I never have had two miserable, bad experiences at two different Steak n Shakes in all my life. It’s really gone down hill from the good old days. WHY???
My family loves steak and Shake. We go to the one in our town Muncie Indiana. Every time I go there esp in the drive thru 20 min waits, I ordered a bowl of chili they brought me half a bowl with basically only broth told me that is all they had no offer of another side or my money or nothing. I got my kid a 4for$4 combo one time, no cookie they are out can’t do anything for me after a 25 minute wait. Another time, $40 order got someone else’s $12 order had to come back all the way across town and they give me the original order that had been sitting there since I left with the wrong order ice cold no offer to fix. But this time is the final straw I order some food on app it takes my order and my money I get to restaurant they tell me they are closed busted water mane they can’t give my food, nor my money and told me to call corporate. When I asked for the number they can’t get it for me and told me it is on the app. I have been searching for this number on the app for 20 minutes. It is not on the app!!!
As I was sitting in the restaurant waiting to get served after waiting 15 minutes to get seated I decided to see if maybe I could order online quicker than getting a waitress. I had the order all ready to go when she finally arrived to take our order. The reason I hadn’t submitted it was I could not find any way to upgrade my fries with my order to a large order. I decided to just add a side of French fries however I couldn’t find that option anywhere on the menu. Same thing with onion rings. The other thing is that there is no flow to the ordering. You can’t tell what the main menu page is so if you click the double arrow one too many times it takes you back the select location page. Make a drop down menu that has all of the categories and easy to know how to go back and forth. And fix your restaurants and get them to start managing the floor and customers better.
